As cameras on phones and laptops have got better, the size of the picture files get bigger and bigger and bigger, the space needed to store the pictures has got bigger and bigger and bigger and more space costs more money. It's primarily for that reason that forum operators like to limit the size of the picture files.
I dont do Apple products, what we are saying is this problem with not being able to post pictures is only since the forum change.Hi SB2015. Trying to be non techy.... The underlying problem, as usual, comes down to money. Every picture up put on the forum has to be stored wherever the forum owners buy space to store them. I don't use Apple products - not for any particular reason, just don't. I have done a bit of googling and found that there are specific apps for I-pads which reduce the file size of picture files so that they can be shared around much more easily. Its a common problem and people have been writing apps to deal with it. I am sure you can find one on the I-store. Find an app and load it up. Open the picture using the app, choose the size you want it reduced to ( less than 2 MB ) and resave it. Use the resaved version to post to the forum. Once you have done it a couple of times it will become second nature.
Even with ED&D's renowned talents for diplomacy and persuasion, I'm guessing he will find it impossible to get the forum architect to accept bigger picture files unless DUK are happy to underwrite the inevitable increased costs, so it is down to us to find solutions.
If you need some help, find a 10 year old with an I-pad - if they are anything like my grandchildren, they will sort you!!
By the way, people like Facebook and twitter are perfectly happy to bear the cost of the bigger files because they make so much money selling on the information they glean from them they can afford it. DUK, who are to be congratulated for supporting this forum, don't, as far as I am aware, look on it as a way of making money.

I have always added photos by attaching files. I didn’t know there was another way.Hi SB2015. I dont't have access for to the Apple Appstore but I have just put "resize photo" into the play store search and a whole load of apps turned up. I would expect the same to happen in the app store.
You also have eggyg's solution above. As I understand it, she does not try and copy and paste or drag an image into the forum, she uses the "attach files" button on the bottom of the box where you type your messages. This opens up a box where she can browse and find the picture she wants. Tap on it and the forum will try to add it to your message. If the file is too big it will offer you the chance to make it smaller as eggyg describes.
Anyway, hopefully, your (and other peoples) problems will be solved when ed&d smoothtalks the architect.
Yes. Just use your browser like you do on a desktop. I've got Firefox. It's better on a tablet than a phone though. A Bluetooth keyboard can help.Is there a way of accessing the forum on an android phone?
Possibly. What are you actually using at the moment. What size files have you been trying to upload?Do you think a ohoto taken on the phone will be smaller.
I am using the email system on my iPad. Is that what you mean by Apple mail?I get this when I attach a full size camera image on iPad @SB2015 (using the default Apple Mail)
It didn’t appear when attaching small images, but gave me the option when the image was larger...

Try taking some on your phone.
Thought: does the camera you've been using allow you to shoot at a lower resolution? That can give smaller file sizes. If it's a proper camera it may have a setting for how much it compresses pictures.
Android phones used to have a whole set of resolutions to choose from.
I have no idea why in my iPad I don’t get the three dots at the bottom of the photo to give me the option of resizing. Just a photo, and when I try more options on the tool bar still no resizing options.I’ve got it sussed. I use an iPhone or iPad, click on attach file, select your photo, if you try to attach it it will say it’s too large. Go back to photo and you’ll see in small writing at the bottom the option to change the size, I select medium and it’s fine. Obviously this is Apple, I don’t know what you‘re using.
I’ve just tried to attach a photo so I can send a screen shot to show you and I didn’t have to change the size! Has it been sorted?
