Hi hookys. I’m pretty new to this (8 weeks in). For breakfast I either have 2 Weetabix, 2 shredded wheat, 40gms porridge, all with SS milk. I did buy some almond milk and coconut milk in Asda, but yet to try it. I usually have a small piece of fruit. Small banana, apple, peach, pear etc. For lunch I have a ham & tomato sandwich. 2 slices of crust less whole meal bread, 4 pieces of Ryvita with FF cottage cheese, or light fat cream cheese. If having sandwich or Ryvita I have 6 baby tomatoes & a FF yoghurt. Sometimes I have a 2 egg omelette with small amount of ham, onion & cheese with 6 small tomatoes on the side. For tea I have steak with mushrooms, onions, broccoli or cauliflower & a small amount of pepper sauce with 3 baby boiled potatoes. Another tea would be gammon, with some fresh pineapple, 3 baby potatoes and broccoli, cauliflower etc. We have stir fry’s made from SW recipes, and my favourite curry is Lamb or Chicken Curry served with brown basmati rice. Another SW recipe. I have much smaller portions than I used to have, to keep sugars right and also to lose weight. Still waiting to see a dietician, but my bloods are nearly always within 4 - 7. I’m on Metformin,Glicizide & Lantus SR insulin. Hope that helps. I try not to snack. If really hungry and a drink doesn’t help, I would have a small yoghurt or piece of fruit, or raw veg like celery, peppers. I always have a sugar free jelly at night to take my meds with. It gives me that sugar kick. I drink hot water with a slice of lemon and orange all day, and eat the flesh from the orange when I’ve finished the drink. I would use one lemon and one orange a day for the drinks. I’m bad and use sweetener in it, but hope to wean off that soon. Hope that helps
