Well done Bubbsie. I suspect that you will be able to train your GP very well.
You have done brilliantly.

I smiled at him this morning SB...think it may have unbalanced him somewhat...no time to get into his computer says 'NO' mode this morning:D:D:D...thank you.

Am thrilled your review went well. What a change in him 🙂

Still in the waiting room
Blimey...so grateful mine was early khskel...not sure I could have stood the suspense until the afternoon...fingers crossed.

Thanks Ljc...a complete transformation...mind you taken me almost nine months to get there with him...finally feel he may be worth keeping...and just heard he is going to prescribe me some testing strips & lancets...as I am type 2...no doubt the local CCG group will be on his case for doing that...but...just about to write to them in the strongest of terms!

Wow Bubbsie, sounds like all your effort training him up has paid off!

Thanks Robin...yes taken a while with him...finally had a breakthrough...have to say he has exhausted my patience at times...but there now...thinking on employing the same regime on Harry (dog)...that will be a whole other story...watch this space!!!

Excellent results. It's just dawned on me that I've never had a review as such...the D isn't mentioned as such. I'll have to look into that. Would like results like yours. 🙂

Ditto...if you've never discussed Diabetes at your appointments doesn't sound like you've had a 'proper review'...don't want to appear ignorant...but...have you had an HbA1c test yet?...no mention of it on your signature...if not...perhaps you should ask for one...even though you take no meds...still important for you to know what your average BG levels are over an extended period...as opposed to simply the spot checks from your meter...you could phone your surgery and ask for one...then when the results are in have a review...its taken me nine months to reduce my BG to the current level (46)...still some way to go yet...but decided to take it steady & slow...get myself a sustainable regime...no point in me rushing into something that would be too difficult to for me to continue long term...those results are achievable for most of us...simply a matter of deciding how to approach...manage our condition...with the numbers you get...reasonably sure you will do that...you may have already...why not ring your practice...book an appointment...find out where you are.

The only thing I've had is an eye check 12 months ago and I'm to have another next month. Also I did go docs for a review but I always go half yearly for high blood pressure and stuff and D wasn't mentioned in particular. Last time the doc said "You are diabetic aren't you?" but I'd blanked it and so we were both at a loss. He did take a picture of my foot with the right one looking like a puffer fish as usual. 🙄

Ditto...sounds like you've never had an HbA1c test...don't believe you're in denial or 'blanking it'...otherwise you wouldn't be here...testing...asking relevant questions...why not get yourself along to the doctors...book that blood test and book a review for your diabetes...by the sound of your results so far...you seem to be managing well...but...testing meters are no substitute for your long term results which you will only get from an Hba1c test...aren't you curious to find out how well you are coping?...give it a try...it's a positive step forward🙂.

I'm confused as to how @Ditto got diagnosed with diabetes without a HbA1c test.

I did wonder that myself Mark...probably similar to me...when I had the initial blood test that diagnosed my diabetes...the lab did not give the HbA1c breakdown...when I asked my GP why (just given in %) he said they never do on the first test...he had written to them previously...they said it was their policy not to provide that breakdown on the first test...so maybe a blood test the figure in % indicating can control with diet & exercise only...distinct possibility.

Go Bubbsie :D great to hear you had a positive, useful review -not before time- and all your hard effort to control the D plus plenty of dog walking has paid dividends. 🙂
