before my review appointment with Dr Max Medication this morning...feeling tense/apprehensive... despite knowing overall my BG management is reasonably well controlled...Blood Pressure still within normal range since stopping BP medication in Jan 2017...Cholesterol still high in total...however the breakdown indicates Triglycerides and HDL in normal range... overall progress... expecting the Statins Issue to feature Big Time...however...such a positive review thought I'd gone to the wrong surgery...praise for my BG control...weight loss...maintaining my blood pressure...yes the statins issue did arise...had a discussion...expressed my reservations at taking statins...agreed not appropriate at this stage (even got a pat on the back)...well blow me down with a feather...unusually for me utterly speechless!

Wow Bubbsie :D what a great review. And leaving you speechless! Well almost ha ha. Big pat on the back from me too. Well done 🙂

Thanks Linda...still speechless...just waking myself up with a large coffee:D.

Glad you had a positive review.
Thanks grovesy...he's been such hard work...finally it seems to have paid off...to my immense relief![/QUOTE]

You whipped yourself up into a lather based on the other poor consults with Mad Max but your recent results have been good and you're doing really well. Glad he recognised your efforts Bubbsie....hell he's even beginning to sound human! :D

Great news glad it was such a positive outcome bubbsie

Hmmn... sound human Amigo...not sure I want to credit him with that quality just yet...improvement...yes...absolutely... amazed we discussed the statins issue so amicably...astounded he agreed my reservations were valid...so no decree from him that I must/should take them at this stage...thank you.

Thank you Steff...as said he has been such hard work...decided I had/needed to persevere with him...others could have been worse....relieved there has been progress...feel my efforts have been worthwhile.

Oh Ye of little faith! 🙂 Great to hear about the character transplant, and a good, positive review 🙂
Thanks Alan...went well prepared this morning.

Great news, Bubs.🙂

ysy, go @Bubbsie - is this the same person who fretted so much after diagnosis.

well done you, great news, so very pleased for you Barbara.

you have confirmed my feelings about the consultants. if they see that you have tried you have won them over and they will enjoy working with you.

Did they change your meds at all or have they kept them the same?

Yes the same one (me) who's first post I believe was entitled 'Newly diagnosed and Struggling'...or very much along those lines...he's has been hard work...worthwhile though...thanks Hazel.

Good! - makes a welcome change Bubbsie. Don't get getting complacent though and expecting him to be the same in future LOL (You wouldn't believe I'm a glass half full person would you!)

We did touch on that...I said not sure wanted to adjust meds at this stage...although to be fair that was my primary objective initially soon after diagnosis...got off to a flying start...then realised with other new health issues too fast a pace for me Mark...did it slowly...scoring lots of fives/sixes on testing...said would prefer to continue on Metformin until that range was achievable consistently...possibly lower...review in another three months...if continues...will consider adjusting meds...he reassured me even if get to non-diabetic range...we could continue regular HbA1c checks...foot checks...and so on...been on a relatively low dose of Metformin since DX...will continue with that until next review...if positive...will reduce then.
