I usually have 3 for brekkie, 3 for lunch and 3 for tea, most I've taken in one go was I think 7 and that was for Christmas and New Year, I know I can have what I want and I should but the feeling is hard to describe, I'm glad you enjoyed the cake 🙂 xHi kaylz, I know how you feel, but mikeyB is right,
I would normally take 4-5 units of my bolus with my evening meal but last night I was ordered to take more by my daughter as she wanted me to have a piece of birthday cake , so I took 7 units which was quite a big change for me, at bed time my bg was 10.6. Not to good but I didn't bit myself up , next time I will try 8 units.
The cake was gorgeous though. First piece in 12 months.
Having diabetes does not mean denying yourself any food types. Just forget your obsession with food you think you can not eat, eat as you normally would whilst injecting as you need to. The more obsessed you become the more you will resent the condition.Just feeling generally fed up I'm denying myself all the things I used to love and sticking to the same meals all the time in order to not have to take much insulin and I just don't know why I'm being like thatx
I know I haven't had more than 40g carbs in one meal at a time in weeks, I don't know why I feel like this I don't know if it's due to a lecture I got from a fellow type 1 or not but it really is starting to get to me xHaving diabetes does not mean denying yourself any food types. You need to talk to a HCP who can help you overcome your problems because if you don't it will just eat into you and destroy you.
I hope it was not someone on here.I know I haven't had more than 40g carbs in one meal at a time in weeks, I don't know why I feel like this I don't know if it's due to a lecture I got from a fellow type 1 or not but it really is starting to get to me x
No not someone on here, don't worry xI hope it was not someone on here.
Kay, you will find some people that are adamant eating very little or no carbs is the way to go these people are almost as bad as JW's in their beliefs.I know I haven't had more than 40g carbs in one meal at a time in weeks, I don't know why I feel like this I don't know if it's due to a lecture I got from a fellow type 1 or not but it really is starting to get to me x
Do it then.I so just want to go ahead and have that kit kat chunky peanut butter with my linch tomorrow but it's 22.8g carbs itselfx
So what if it's 22.8 carbs inject for it and enjoy it. 🙂 You are very lucky you can do this even though I am type 1 I can't as I'm coeliac as well. So Enjoy and share it virtually with me as well 🙂I so just want to go ahead and have that kit kat chunky peanut butter with my linch tomorrow but it's 22.8g carbs itselfx
Yeah I know but it's finding something else that I can have with it that's lower carb is my main problem I enjoy my sandwiches for my lunch usually but I don't think that would be a great idea, sorry to hear you are coeliac as well but from what I've seen on supermarket websites there are much more products available now than there used to be xSo what if it's 22.8 carbs inject for it and enjoy it. 🙂 You are very lucky you can do this even though I am type 1 I can't as I'm coeliac as well. Go for it! It sounds like you really want to and after eating it, you may not want one for ages. You are doing so well, you deserve treats and your diet has to be sustainable.I so just want to go ahead and have that kit kat chunky peanut butter with my linch tomorrow but it's 22.8g carbs itselfx
I used to eat them all the time before diagnosis but I bought 3 at the end of November after being diagnosed and I've still one left that's how much I deny myself haha xGo for it!
