At the moment I just cannot get my Blood sugar's below 7 I'm ranging from 7.3 to 10.9. I'm also now on 5 metformin a day up from 4 a day do not know what else to try.

We all seem to be struggling at the moment, I'm sure it's this weather. All we can do is wait it out and hope there's a break soon.

Time for a visit to your GP, methinks. Maybe you need a different type of drug. Have you monitored what different types and levels of carb do to your BG readings?

P.S. When did you increase your metformin dose? There's a lead time of several days before the effect kicks in.

Yes I had my annual review last week and metformin was increased then. I have not been monitoring the carbs

.../ I have not been monitoring the carbs

Hmm, perhaps it's time to give carb control a go then? It may make a big difference.

I never thought about them but I will look in to them

Agreed.....I think it is important to carb count anyway as this is a major factor of keeping levels better for a diabetic, yes you need them but to much carbs is not a good thing, I am very careful of how much carb intake I have as it raises bs a lot...well for me and a lot of other diabetics.

Sorry to hear this Donald. Have you tried keeping a food diary so you can get a picture of your actual day to day carb consumption, plus it might make it easier to spot areas that might be improved 🙂
