The other thing that comes to mind, is that when it bursts, the sock is retaining the infection and reinfecting the wound.

Generally it will grow out, just as it would with humansBramble been to vets, antibiotics and more cream, to continue bathing in salt water and sock at night. Asked what was causing it, she said could just be an ingrown hair
