Dog owners will understand

They think that’s what it could be
If it is a grass seed, it will need to be removed.
The other thing that comes to mind, is that when it bursts, the sock is retaining the infection and reinfecting the wound.

What sort of dog do you have ?

She’s a westie bad for licking paws. We only put sock on at night, but never thought off it reinfecting thanks

Bramble been to vets, antibiotics and more cream, to continue bathing in salt water and sock at night. Asked what was causing it, she said could just be an ingrown hair
Generally it will grow out, just as it would with humans

The pollen count is high at the moment and that can make them lick their paws

We give Amber Piriton, one in the morning or at night if and only "if" she starts paw licking
That might be worth trying

Hope your pooches tootsies are feeling much better soon.

It’s those ‘dart’ grass seeds that get into the paws of mine :(

I hardly remember seeing any of them when I was a kid, but there are bazillions around the pavements here every summer these days, and every one explodes into so many nasty barbed needles 😱
