MPs are getting started on an inquiry in to diabetes care in hospital, and are looking for anyone with experience, good or bad, to share their comments. We know these reports come out much better if people living with diabetes are involved from the start, so if you have a minute to give your thoughts it'll be really useful.

You can share your experience, long or short, using this quick Diabetes UK form. The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Diabetes will then use your experience (anonymously if you prefer) to put together a report on what needs to change to improve diabetes care in hospital.

They'll also be looking at new stats from the National Diabetes Audit which show almost half of people in hospital with diabetes who manage the condition with insulin suffered errors in their insulin administration, whilst over a third experienced other medication errors related to their diabetes.

There is some positive news from that report as well (more people are getting seen by diabetes specialists, for example) but clearly there's a lot that could work better. So anything you can share with about what you think needs to change will be really helpful.

P.S. Noticed as I've been writing this there's another thread on diabetes care in hospital by @Ruth k . I'll leave it to the wisdom of the mods if they want to merge them together 🙂 Makes it pretty clear there's a real problem though.
