Yes, meat and cheese are fine - as mentioned, it is the amount of carbohydrates that you need to be conscious of - so things like bread, potatoes, pasta, rice, sugary items, pastries etc. Not that you can't eat these things at all, just that these are the things that will have the greatest impact on your blood glucose levels

Have you been given any medication for your diabetes? How did your diagnosis come about? It's not great to get a diagnosis of diabetes, but the good news is that it can be managed well and doesn't have to stop you doing things - many people find that the adjustments they make actually result in them feeling happier and healthier than they have for some time!
