Just had a letter after my retinopathy scan a couple of weeks ago and my first back at annual screening after being discharged from the eye hospital last year. Unfortunately, it's one of those 'you have moderate diabetic disease, a referral has been made to your local eye unit'
I'm hoping that they've just spotted the same thing that sent me to the eye hospital originally, which was small changes but near to the macula. They discharged me after a couple of years because nothing actually changed in that time. I never needed any treatment whilst I was there. If things have got worse then I'm at a bit of a loss as my HbA1c and BP have been excellent so can't really be improved. Guess I'm just unlucky in where the changes have occurred.
