I use different carb amounts every time because it depends how much I have of it to eat. It's just whether I should be going with the ordinary egg fried rice or special fried rice. This is something you have a lot so why not just use the same carb estimate you used last time?
When did you have it last? Check your MySugr to see how many carbs you estimated it as and how that worked for your blood sugar. If it worked well use the same. If it didn’t work well either estimate a bit more or less carbs accordingly.
Thank you this is what I was wondering.I don’t think it makes much difference if it’s special fried or egg fried.
Which photo do you usually go from?I tend to work off egg fried rice being 1/3 carbs (as said in carbs and cals) so I just weigh the portion and divide by 3. That works for us. You might need a slightly different ratio. But if you have it semi regularly knowing the carbs per 100g or the ratio is helpful. I don’t think it makes much difference if it’s special fried or egg fried.
The total amount of carbs may be different if you eat a different portion size but you can use the same method for calculating it. It doesn’t matter if it’s accurate or not just learn from how it worked last time.I use different carb amounts every time because it depends how much I have of it to eat. Would I tell my bolus advisor I'm having 32g of carbs and not 18g18/55=0.32.
33g of carbs not 57g of carbs57/170=0.33.
33g of carbs not 93g93/280=0.33.
Yes if you are eating 100g. No if you are eating a different weight.Would I tell my bolus advisor I'm having 32g of carbs and not 18g
33g of carbs not 57g of carbs
33g of carbs not 93g

My own weight when weighed on the scales of 173g ÷ 3 = 57.6........You’ve got the sums muddled, I think @mum2westiesGill
…as Sally says above, weight you eat divided by 3 will be near enough the same and easy to remember.
^^This is the easiest way to do it.

On carbs and cals if I weigh my rice then enter the weight in the custom weight box then press done
58g carbs ÷ 173 my weight × 173 my weight = 58g of carbsView attachment 19258
173g comes up as 58g of carbs so that would be 58÷173 = 0.33....
61g of carbs ÷ 182 my weight × 182 & 61g of carbs
In future I know to go with either and whatever weight of rice I'm having divided by 3........now what to have for tea.......scampi lolI don’t think it makes much difference if it’s special fried or egg fried.
