Newly diagnosed type 2 lost some wieght but carnt get bloodss under 7 on a morning before breakfast
Hi Cheryl and welcome 🙂 is it just the morning levels that are higher? What are your numbers throughout the day? Especially 2 hours after eating? Some people do seem to struggle with those early morning readings.
What kind of foods are you eating? Carbohydrates are the worst things for pushing our bg levels up, I chose to completely cut rice, pasta, potatoes and the only bread I eat is Burgen. Fruit is another challenge for me, the guide is two small pieces a day but I can only tolerate one 😉Hi Cathy my evening levels are about one digital up eg if my post breakfast levels are 7.2 my evening ones 2 hours after food are 7.3 also I don't eat after 6 o'clock but I cannot get down to under 7

Thanks Cathy not on any Meds been diagnosed about 6 weeks already lost 1.1/2 stone my wieght went up 4 stone due to being on steroids for over a year due to illness which caused steroids induced diabetes been off steroids for 6 months and after numerous blood test I got diagnosed with type 2 thank you so much for your help and supportDifferent meters can vary a little so as long as you are using the same one regularly it shouldn’t matter which one it is. The code free meter is the cheapest both for the device and the test strips, if you are getting them on prescription and she wants you to use a certain one then she needs to replace it if you feel it’s faulty. Are you on any medication? Also, how long since you changed your diet? It may be that your body needs a little more time to adjust? Your numbers are not horrendous so I wouldn’t be too concerned at this point.
