What do i look at the carb amount or of which are sugars bit?
I'm in the uk, so how many carbs am I allowed in a day as I've just been looking at the of which are sugars and going for stuff that's low in that categoryThe carbs - on the packaging in the UK as they are the net cabs, without the fibre included.
If you look online and the site is USA based then you need to deduct the fiber - note the spelling, to get the net cabs.
The 'of which sugars' might tell you how fast the carbs might spike you, but it is not really significant.
There is no real recommend daily amount anything under 130 grams a day is consider by most as low carb, but many like @Drummer go ultra low. I would go with the level you feel you can maintain long term as this is a marathon not a sprint.I'm in the uk, so how many carbs am I allowed in a day as I've just been looking at the of which are sugars and going for stuff that's low in that category
So when I started this 2 weeks ago my BG was over 30 on the meter fasting in a morning was about 25 I'm now at about 12 in a morning now last night I felt really bad the room was spinning but I tested my BG and it was only 18 and Its been about 18 for the last week this is at night before I take my tresiba at night what could have that been today I'm working everything out to see what I intake and see what happens tonight today all in I will be having 267g that's all day?I think it helps to know what you currently eat in terms of daily carb intake so keep a food diary and work that out and then reduce that for a week or two and then perhaps reduce it again as your body gets used to craving carbs less. Lowering your BG levels too quickly can cause temporary or even permanent damage to fine blood vessels, so slow and steady is the key. Increasing your activity levels with a daily walk will also help if you are able. Many people here on the forum use a BG meter to figure out how many carbs their body can handle but am I not right in thinking you are on insulin, in which case any changes in carb intake need to be slow and cautious so that you can slowly reduce your insulin doses through discussion with your Health Care Professionals to balance your BG and hopefully prevent hypos occuring.
Not at all - We like the ones from the Coop which are very low carb and also tasty without being peppery.I don't understand all that nutritional info on packets, so I try not to have anything from a packet, much easier. 🙂
Agh that's a lie, I ate a packet of sausages today. Cripes. No more sossies! Full of cereal anyways no doubt.
