I’ve downloaded, and started to use, Carb Manager to track food intake with the intention of heading towards a low carb, moderate fat approach rather than full on keto.
The frustrating thing is that already I’m, em, frustrated at the lack of options available when out and about and in need of “pitstop” foods (places like Pret, Cafe Nero etc).
Any suggestions?
I found Tossed today and the do build your own salads and protein bowls. They also update the nutritional info and macros live on the screen dependent on your choices which I thought was fab.

I found Tossed today and the do build your own salads and protein bowls. They also update the nutritional info and macros live on the screen dependent on your choices which I thought was fab.
Starbucks do egg white bites with cheese and red pepper at 5.9g carb each, they come as a pack of 2 served hot.
 
Fav coffee chain is Costa but don't think they sell anything on low carb side unless you eat cardboard cup afterwards @ColinUK
Sadly, cardboard is not carb free. Although it does seem to depend upon the type of cardboard.

However, I won't be trying it:

Sadly, cardboard is not carb free. Although the it does seem to depend upon the type of cardboard.

I share your frustration. Pret do several carb free salad bowls.

Yeah pret seems to be ahead of the curve on this. But I don’t eat shellfish so that’s leaving me with chicken, tuna or smoked salmon salads.
Of course there’s nothing to stop me buying a wrap and just eating the filling.

Pret do an Italian salad that's pretty good.
 
M&S have some good options for when you need to get something out
 
I tend to head for a normal supermarket and buy cooked meat, coleslaw, tomatoes, radishes, maybe some fizzy flavoured water.
If I know that I will be 'eating out' I take along a small metal bowl and cutlery in my back pack.
Not ideal if it is pouring with rain of course, but I seen to have the knack of finding somewhere at least somewhat comfortable and sheltered to be able to eat.

Salads with varying carb contents from none to plenty, fruit you can buy individually or in pots, I like the egg tortilla and the cocktail sausages (gluten free too), olives, individual bread rolls, yoghurt, individual servings or meat like chicken, sandwich filters you can eat instead of a sandwich, premade sandwiches, cutlery by the tills. Something for all diets.

Thanks , yes some of that will suit me on holiday as I am sure we will eat out a lot.
 
I go for salads, omelettes or sometimes soup depending on what it is. In restaurants I go for red meat, chicken, fish, salads and just ask for the potatoes or chips left off and extra salad or vegetables. I rarely order pasta, pies, rice etc. I sometimes have a dessert but only on occasions.
 
@ColinUK do you have any of the Asian chains available like Itsu, Wasabi and K10. They often do good but different salads, poke bowls and tasty miso soup. Most salads and poke bowls come with rice but you can leave that - probably easier to leave rice than extract contents of a wrap.

Went into Costa for a coffee with friends a while ago and they decided to have lunch. There was nothing to suit me as it was all sandwiches and baguettes so I waited until I went home.

Everywhere else I can find something. Most places usually do salads, soups or omelettes.

I wrote to them and requested them to tell me what was low carb the reply is it is listed on the app.
They had a disclaimer .
"We cannot guarantee that our food or drinks are allergen free.Due to the use of shared equipment in the display, preparation and service of our products there is a risk of cross contamination." keep scrolling down
https://www.costa.co.uk/docs/store-allergen-guide.pdf but the only thing is the melon pot at 6 carbs the rest are very high but most are bread, rolls or cakes so have all the dreaded things to eat as a diabetic anyway.

Yes if you look at their menu on line and the carb info there is practically nothing which I would consider low carb.
Starbuck's is better with a few items.
