Is there a 'go to' book that anyone can recommend to provide help on counting carbs?

Something like Carbs & Cals ?

The Collins Gem Calorie Counter used to be popular back in the day. There was also a ‘carb counter’ version, but that used to annoyingly not specify weight of things, but only say ‘a quarter of a baguette’ without actually specifying how big it actually was!

The calorie counter version specified carbs in everything per 100g 🙂

... and mine is absolutely falling apart by now Mike! They don't make Collins Gem books they way they used to, I still have my old Gem Latin dictionary which would have been bought approx 1962, but treated myself to a similar sized Larousse French one this decade to replace my sister's old Gem one (so that one's approx 1957 cos I inherited it in 1961) cos though still intact, the Larousse is much more up to date and comprehensive - and is predictably already falling apart.

Yes @leonS I over corrected and consequently taking practically all day to sort it. Been a VERY long time since I had hypos lower than 3.0 and obviously this had to happen the day after I've been prescribed the Libre - just Sod's Law! :D
You gave me great advice so its my turn to return the favour. I too had not had a horrible hypo since the heatwave after diagnosis. UNTIL i started the libre. I think that slight lag in levels drew me into a false sense of security!

Oh I get bolshie when I am hypo so I had a piece of toast and Buggrit - I'm having marmelade on that, said my brain independently - but being actually hypo of course it wasn't a scrape, more like a wave! - and consequently had to pay the price for it. Story of this T1's life! 😱

(Anyway because there really was too much marmelade for me (I'm the same with jam) (except with clotted cream on the only acceptable carrying item for them) I wasn't enjoying eating it at all after the first mouthful which with hindsight of course was probably more than enough without eating the rest of it, but you can't waste food can you and we don't own a dog ......)
