Just measured my blood pressure again, and for the first time ever (to my knowledge!) it has dropped below 100 systolic - it was 99/59 😱 . This has come down from 160+/95+ a couple of months ago, so it's a huge drop. I'm seeing my GP on Thursday and will ask if I should reduce my medication - fewer pills, yayyy!!! :D

All down to sleeping better, running, and no alcohol! 🙂

Well done Alan ! :D

You'll be on pills for hypotension instead ! 🙄

Rob

Well done Al onwards and downwards x

But not much more than that tho, Alan!

According to my little booky-wooky that came with my pressure monitor, <100, <60 is a "Consult the GP only if suffering symptoms of low BP like fainting"

Also according to my book, <120 and <80 is the "Ideal".

But if you're feeling Ok, then that's good news, I think!

Andy 🙂

Have you checked to see if you've sprung a leak ?:D

I suspect I will be taken off the tablets. I was originally put on a dose of 2mg when my levels were around 140/90, then it was upped progressively to 12mg when it was showing at 160/100 in the surgery. With the kinds of numbers I'm now showing I doubt I need anything, as I would still be 'normal' at quite higher levels, as you say Andy 🙂

You must be pleased and yet surprised at these values. Good luck with the GP - I am sure you want to take as few pills as possible.

I had a 115/55 at clinic once and the Dr said it was a wonder I could stand up.... you've not had any dizzyness have you ?

I have had a bit of light-headedness, but not sure whether it's psychosomatic!

When are you taking your readings Alan?

Well done Alan 🙂

Well done Alan 🙂, hope you can reduce your bp medication!

Hope the downward trend levels out nicely 🙂

i bet nobody can beat mine 50/80 and i am not even dizzy or feel fainting usually is low but not that low no preeclampsia for me

That's brilliant news Northerner! Great big well done......hope you can reduce your blood pressure medications or possibly even stop them. It can be done, I was on them when I was going through a particularly stressful time a few years ago. I was told that I needed them for life. "Fortunately" the ramipril gave me side effects so I stopped taking them after three months and have never needed them again (despite frequest blood pressure checks at the GP's/hospital)

Thanks AJ 🙂 I got side effects from ramipril too, so have been on candesartan, which doesn't affect me adversely, but would still not have to take them! If I can stop these then the only pill I have left is aspirin, which I could probably take or leave in terms of what it is probably doing to help me. 🙂 When I was diagnosed I was on 11 different pills! 😱

Wow I'm going green with envy that you'll be able to reduce down to aspirin and I'm really pleased for you:D
