Just wanted to thank whoever the person was who suggested bb spaghetti. It read low carbs. Ok, when I opened the packet it did resemble twigs. Minor panic. But it was delicious with sauce and veg. Thank you. Will do the finger prick later on and see if there was any damage

I have just ordered some more blackbean spag also edamame bean spag, we had it last night with mushrooms, Parma ham with a creamy pesto sauce. I usually cook 25g dry weight each.

I have bought some of the "black spaghetti" from Asda but haven't tried it yet, must do that soon - thanks for the tip of 25g dry weight, that is useful to know. Does it keep well once opened as it is likely to be only me that will use it?

I have to say I didn't weigh it but took a handful for us.

It is new to me but because it resembles twigs I suspect it will last while .

Make sure the 'black spaghetti' is not just normal pasta with squid ink as that would not be low carb and that it is actually black bean pasta,

No it is made out of beans, but I can't be bothered to go to kitchen to check - hmm google and Asda website might be useful here ... ah-ha!

Liberto Organic Black Soya Bean Spaghetti

also it is gluten free, cooks in 3 minutes, carbs are 15g per 100g, so for 25g that is more than low enough for me.

Thanks. It is definitely black bean spag and not the one with squid ink.

Good to know ASDA has, I expect it is cheaper than my on-line order. My little local ASDA doesn't seem to have it.
It is £2.89 for 200g, if I do 25g portions then that gives me 8 meals, so works out reasonable enough at just over 36p each.

Black bean "chocolate fudge cake"
I can't remember it, but Google the recipe.
There is also a " white chocolate" version, using chickpeas.

makes me happy that I don't actually like chocolate cake, unless it is a black forest gateau - but that is erased now too! I DO have tins of black beans though and need to use them somehow .... hmm, would it be grounds for divorce if I fed this "chocolate fudge cake" to my husband??? 😱
