@Taffyboyslim have you checked your body's reaction to the yoghurt that you like?
It can feel as if there is an obsession about cutting carbs and filling up on natural full fat Greek yoghurt.
But we are all different. Your body may be able to cope with the carbs in your preferred yoghurt.
If you have a meter, test your BG before eating and 2 hours later.

I am cutting rice , pasta and potatoes right out
Rice - have you tried riced cauliflower as a substitute? 4% carb vs 30%. It works for me with something like a Chilli Con Carne.
Pasta - there are other types which are lower carb, eg Red Lentil Penne, although it's still advisable to watch portion size.
Potatoes - cauli or celeriac mash is a good substitute for potato. Chips made from celeriac are OK, I find.

Thanks Martin

Yes I have tried the cauliflower rice and the cauliflower rice and broccoli

With some mild spices mixed in its OK and like you I felt it was ok with a curry

I havnt made my own cauliflower rice it seems easy to do but if the only slightly processed food I have is microwaveable cauliflower rice I can deal with that

I have only seen the mung bean pasta ? It looks expensive

Unfortunately pastas like mung bean or edemame, although only around a third of the carbs of regular pastas, tend to be 3 or 4 times the price, too. Once you see that they're sold in places like Holland & Barrett you know they ain't gonna be cheap.

As an occasional substitute I can deal with that

The rice and noodle konjac stuff doesn't float my boat

I don't like Greek yoghurt , wether flavoured or not

I am looking for a diabetic friendly flavoured yoghurt ? .....reduced fat or full fat with fruit

My mum used to like the weight watchers layered fromage frais fruit yoghurts ?

Ski ? Shape ? Whatever happened to them ?

Especially hazelnut ?
I would suggest you look for Longley Farm yoghurts. They're about 13g carbs per 100g, but they're just like the old Ski yoghurts you refer to. I test after meals, and they don't spike my blood sugar. They do a hazelnut one too.

We get them from Morrisons, but I think Home Bargains and Heron also sell them. https://longleyfarm.com/ is their website.

Always worth a try!

I remember them , I will give them a try ! X

I am with the person who says you don't like it you don't have to eat it. Yes low carb , low sugar is best. My problem is Greek Yogurt does up my sugar so I do have it but in less amounts. I just love yoghurt. This could be a way forward . Sainsburys do a

Sainsbury's Flourish Gut Health Yogurts 4x100g and these are < or = to 13 carbs per pot . So say half of that to me is not bad.

Its a case of looking at the labels.
For breakfast there are Keto cookies you can buy or make. Then the usual cooked Bacon, egg , sausage 97% Heck makes very low carb. Porridge I can have 25g made with water then lots of cream added to make it yummy .
It is worth the effort if your overweight and have a high blood sugar
.
Good Luck

I had full meat sausages x2 from the butcher this morning , 2 eggs , fat trimmed bacon and mushrooms , all lightly fried in butter

It's true what they say about protein .....I have felt full all day

Good choice - I'd have that selection any day.

I cook my sausages (like yours, from a butcher) in the oven as they seem to swell if I do that (20 mins at 200) and prefer to grill bacon, but you can't beat a portion of mushrooms fried in butter.

like the almond flour, almost £15 for less than a kilo...

I like Skyr yoghurt with raspberries and/or walnuts. Its around 4g carbs per 100g. They also do a creamy one that tastes VERY creamy. I think they've started doing flavoured ones as well.

Hi I’m Maddy. Type 2 many years. Bad diabetic!! I’m desperate to change my diet to low carb but I’m finding it very hard.
I use Tresiba insulin and I was put on Ozempic insulin two years ago and just left to it.
The nurse just left.
I’m stopping the Ozempic as it’s making me very unwell and sleeping all the time with no appetite.
Can’t get through to Drs.
Hb1 ac was 74 last week.
I really need a simple meal plan but can’t find anything.

I’ve been reading all your posts about yogurt …. I use Arla protien yogurts blueberry, or raspberry.
Also Tesco porridge pots with apple &bluebrry both nice.

Sorry for long post. Take care all
Maddy
