Try and get through to your health professionals before you stop drugs.
I think my advice would be to not think anyone can be a good diabetic. Even type 1s go wrong even those we think are perfect. i think they will tell you to do what is best for you at the time. Try to be as in control as much as you can. I would find the porridge too high carb but I am not on all the meds so that equals things.
