Before Tea/Evening Meal

And a 6.7 for me pre-dinner on this suddenly went grey (in the last 10 minutes) day.

4.7 for me.

As for supper, something and steamed veg. The 'something' has yet to be detetmined.

Wishing everyone a lovely evening.

Are these readings done by pricking you finger? I've not been told to do this
I was also told by the GP not to finger prick, I thought it was silly advice, how would I know what food are ok or not? So, I bought a monitor, started a food diary to keep a check on stuff. Now I only bother when I eat new foods or I am simply curious. The GP has no idea. We are both happy.

6.5 for me still full of flu/bad cold but think improved on yesterday so hopefully on its way out. Average BG risen 1.5mmol this week according to CGM :(

5.2 for me after a Thai lunch where i ate all the carbs.
Record store day as well. Picked up some Jethro Tull, Goblin, Black Sabbath, and Fields of the Nephilim.

was dropping low this evening 4.2

People are often not told to do it because GPs don't want to prescribe a monitor and test strips but many choose to self fund because it gives them control over managing their condition.
But the testing they do need to be for a purpose, so keeping track of progress day to day, week to week etc or to test whether they tolerate the meals they have by testing before eating and after 2 hours when they would look for no more than a 2-3mmol/l increase or when levels start to come down no more than 8-8.5 mmol/l 2 hrs post meal with before meals and morning / fasting being 4-7mmol/l.
Inexpensive monitors can be bought on line (cheaper tan the pharmacy) and it is the cost of the test strips which is important. The GlucoNavii, TEE2 and Contour Blue are ones with the cheaper strips.
