My story is on page 30 and 31 🙂.

Oh no I dont get it can you print the page and put it on here

Is it available digitally.............?

Don't think it is available digitally (but not sure). Will get hubby to scan it tonight and see if I can attach it as a picture - will need to wait for him to do it as he is a bit more tech savvy than me lol 🙂

The Balance magazine just landed on my doorstep 30 minutes ago. Hadn't even opened it.
Brilliant article, well done🙂
(I'm surprised though that it says "as told to". I thought you had to write the article yourself)

Yep Monica I have never spoken to the woman lol. It was done by me emailing a blurb her getting back to me with questions and suggestions. She has rephrased some of it (I am no journalist lol) but she did help a lot so I presume that's why they say "as told to".

I'm probably not supposed to do this (you should all join to be members and get the magazine - go here!) but I've linked to the story.

It's only come out in black and white I'm afraid - photocopiers and I don't often agree... We've not had the chance to upload any new balance content to the site yet unfortunately. Should be up this week though.

Wow thats great and you have inspired me. i only found out a week ago and I am devestated I need to lose weight and just found myself crying in the kitchen as i just dont knwo what to eat. I have almost cut out potatoes rice pasta and bread and I am finding it so difficult to know what to eat as they were my staple foods. I am also so upset by the thought of not being able to eat my favourite foods again such as crisps but I see you still allow yourself some? Does this mean I can eat some rice and potatoes as well??

Hi Dalaney,
Until you get a meter then you will not know what you can eat. It is like trying to drive without a steering wheel.
I eat small portions of bread, rice and potatoes, (not mash) and have an occasional treat. It is not all doom and gloom and you will find that once you get to grips with it, you will feel much healthier and if you have weight to lose, that will start to come off too.
Try not to dwell on what you will have to give up as you do not even know yet what will be suitable for you to manage your diabetes.
((((hugs))))

Well done cazscot, it shows it can be done and will inspire others not to go for a quick fix option.. xx

Wow well done Carol what a great achievment. You have now inspired to get myself back on the loosing weight and increasing my exercise regime.

A true inspiration ........showing us the improvements that we can make 🙂

Thanks Cherrypie I know I am sounding all doom and gloom and I really am trying to be positive. just checked on Amazon and my meter has been dispatched so I will be able to start testing in a few days and can get a better feel for it all x x

Hello Dalaney............things will improve for you I can remember feeling just like you when I was first diagnosed. At the beginning its just trial and error on what you can and cannot eat. If you able to bring some form of exercise into your day even if its a short walk it defintely seems to make quite a difference.🙂
