The Balance magazine just landed on my doorstep 30 minutes ago. Hadn't even opened it.
Brilliant article, well done🙂
(I'm surprised though that it says "as told to". I thought you had to write the article yourself)
My story is on page 30 and 31 🙂.

Hi Dalaney,
Until you get a meter then you will not know what you can eat. It is like trying to drive without a steering wheel.
I eat small portions of bread, rice and potatoes, (not mash) and have an occasional treat. It is not all doom and gloom and you will find that once you get to grips with it, you will feel much healthier and if you have weight to lose, that will start to come off too.
Try not to dwell on what you will have to give up as you do not even know yet what will be suitable for you to manage your diabetes.
((((hugs))))
Wow thats great and you have inspired me. i only found out a week ago and I am devestated I need to lose weight and just found myself crying in the kitchen as i just dont knwo what to eat. I have almost cut out potatoes rice pasta and bread and I am finding it so difficult to know what to eat as they were my staple foods. I am also so upset by the thought of not being able to eat my favourite foods again such as crisps but I see you still allow yourself some? Does this mean I can eat some rice and potatoes as well??
