I got everything today except toilet rolls, but I'm okay for now anyways. Did get kitchen rolls and tissues. We got to Aldi early and it was fine but then as we were leaving we looked back and it was heaving! People shoulder to shoulder no doubt spreading the lurgy. That hour made all the difference so I'll go early in future too. Sister couldn't get nappies, baby milk or dried milk for coffee but she got a large Coffeemate for £6 in FarmFoods and I got the very last large pull-ups and follow-on baby milk in Tesco. Felt quite accomplished. :D How come I always get the trolley with the dicky wheel?

We are starting to limit items at work tomorrow of certain items, pasta, loo roll etc to 2 per person.

LOL - when I was in Asda yesterday they had a big sign up stating that toilet rolls were limited to one pack per person, and they still didn’t have any!

Crazy scenes this morning, cars queuing outside Aldi hardly any fresh foods on shelves, limited fruit & veg no chicken pork beef, frozen veg all but gone no toilet rolls in sight.

Nipped next door to Iceland, freezers nearly empty, no veg chicken meat veg no loo paper.

Lass on Aldi checkout said she's seen not owt like it, even at christmas. Ended up in Morrisons, managed to get few things in there but limited stock, no hand soap bars of soap no toilet roll or kitchen roll, again freezers were nearly running empty.

Sad tale, wife read last night that old lady in town got into taxi from supermarket in tears, only got half her shopping but couldn't get to other side of town to look in other stores, taxi driver kindly went to get items and delivered them at no extra charge, times like this can bring out worst & best in people.
Savers had quite a lot of Dove soap they have 4 packs for £1.69,noticed in 2 different stores

My other half popped into our convenience store at tea time he could not believe it had been wiped out, yesterday afternoon it was reasonable stocked. He reckons people have realised they were stocked.

Popped into Aldi about 6pm (near pharmacy where I was picking up pescription, they weren't keen on delivering when I'd asked).
It wasn't particularly busy. I was able to get round quickly, and there was only two people in front of me at the checkout, and they didn't have much shopping.
There were notices saying there was a limit of 4 items across the whole stock.
No soup. Almost no bread at all (it's in the first isle). There was cake 🙂 Baked beans were down. No ready meals. There was enough tuna out. Corned beef slices, thin slicked (cooked) chicken. I managed to pick up a pack of proper roast chicken slices. Maybe I should have taken one of the two whole roast chickens. They were small. Though I usually think of a whole chicken as being too much for just the one person.
There was frozen chicken steaks, fish (burgers & fingers), and burgers. Though I don't have an over now, and they don't always do well in a microwave.
A couple of places empty shelves were showing.

Our local shop has kept certain items, loo roll being one, out the back and are only selling them to regular customers.

Well out of the list of things I needed today Bruce arrived back with only one of them, being the most inappropriate on the list for a diabetic.........chocolate!! No butter, paracetamol, kitchen wipes that I always use not just recently started using like the ones who have bought them all, no milk in Tesco, seriously there is no need!

One of our local Iceland stores had to close it's doors today due to the amount of abuse they were getting from customers.

I went into my local Lidl last night at 9.30pm.... they close at 10 and there was just myself and another customer in there. I got everything I wanted although I would have liked a second pot of double cream but only one left. Some of my regular cheaper brands were sold out and I had to buy branded items, like Philidelphia cheese instead of Lidl own brand and a moment of panic when I saw they had no big 1 litre buckets of Milbona Creamy Greek natural yoghurt that I always get but I found some much more expensive and slightly higher carb 500g tubs of the same stuff, so got 2 of those. Got seeds and nuts and fresh berries and salad and a lovely cauliflower and avocados and prawns and some tinned tomatoes and cat food and plenty of my favourite cheese. They didn't have any loo rolls or bread but I didn't need any, so I was quite relieved that my shopping trip was a success.

Morrisons near me normally has security. However, now it's someone taller, obviously standing outside with yellow high visibility jacked on.

The things that are left seems to be the more expensive branded ones. Like Heinze soup. Though Morrisons was restocking cheap sour last time I was there.
Baked beans & spegettit etc all gone. Aldi no soup, bread or rice pudding at all.

Well done I'm glad it was a success, that reminds me that I should get some nuts,I too couldn't find Milbona last week and had to buy the Aldi 1kg alternative which wasn't half as nice as Lidls,I visited Lidl again today and the queues ran half way to the back of the shop and I felt uncomfortable being so close to so many people but what can you do,if you're lucky enough to manage to grab an online order from one of the bigger shops it may well be a month away and it might arrive with a lot of the order out of stock.
I spoke to a guy from Tescos on the phone today that said I would be able to use the vulnerable people shopping hour at Tesco as I had diabetes but it doesn't guarantee anything will be on the shelves, but at least it may be quieter

Bruce just got back from a trip out, 1 box of paracetamol as that's all the local corner shop are allowing as they are having trouble getting it themselves, and a packet of kitchen wipes from Scotmid for £4 odd! 😱 my ones from Lidl or Aldi don't even cost £1 a pack! :( really starting to struggle being a town with only 1 supermarket and the fact the eastern Europeans are flocking there as its what they are used to from home :(
xx

I was horrified to hear that some Aldi stores have had to put up persoex screens to protect cashiers 😱

Pretty poor state of affairs at the supermarket for me today. No toilet rolls, soap, antibac sprays, flour, tinned tomatoes, eggs, pasta, paracetamol or ibuprofen. Not much bread either.

I went to 3 shops in the end, a big ASDA and 2 smaller supermarkets. All out of exactly the same things.

I hope people come to their senses soon :(

I have not been mine recently, but I used them to order online, they do store delivery or deliver to home. I Have just checked some of the wipes say in store only. I have up until recently mainly used their wipes. I ordered a powder bleach product that is only available there, Persil Liquid tabs, my Sainsbury's even before the recent madness did not seem to stock. My delivery is not till next Wednesday, but I am not in a rush usally keep spare in the cupboard.Been doing more washing recently.

I would imagine the screens are more to protect against C19 with check out staff being in close proximity to large numbers of customers for extended periods of time rather than to protect them from abuse

I don't know where it was but other half saw a video where someone was challenged for walking out with a trolley without paying. They went to retrieve the goods, and he threw the trolley at the door breaking it!
