I would imagine the screens are more to protect against C19 with check out staff being in close proximity to large numbers of customers for extended periods of time rather than to protect them from abuse

Aggression from customers was specifically mentioned in the report unfortunately.

It looks like we could have potentially 3 deliveries to our store tomorrow!!! But I guarantee that it will leave the shelves quicker than we can get it on them. I'm dreading work tomorrow. :(

No fights breaking out so far, just some shortages.

I watched two people buy 8 packs of 4 bars of soap!!! Stockpiling or what.
We are continuing to shoo as we would normally and just substituting as necessary.

Take care.

We are fortunate that we have people like you still working in the stores. Thanks Stitch.

Our local shop has kept certain items, loo roll being one, out the back and are only selling them to regular customers.
My local shop too. I have been hobbling with gout and in a lot of pain. I asked about paracetemol and as they know me, the lady went out back and got me a packet. I thanked her and said I'd see them in 3 months as I am now in lock down. I should be OK for 8 weeks (I knew those meal replacement powders would come in handy one day), by which time I hope the panic buying will be over and we can self isolate in a more civilised fashion.

With my local Aldi I haven't bothered going early and getting in a queue for half an hour before opening and have gone later as it seems entirely random as to when deliveries are made,a couple of days ago I was walking in during the afternoon and noticed people on their way out holding packs of toilet roll so made a bee line for those shelves and managed to get some myself.
I have been cycling miles trying different stores, one thing that surprised me today was Iceland, it was very well stocked compared to all of the big supermarkets, and I picked up a few things, they too do early opening for vulnerable people,I've forgotten the times that the lady said but I think it was for an hour each day in the morning

There was plenty of cauliflower rice in our local Tesco , don’t think anyone that isn’t diabetic would try it . One positive
