Hello everyone. I have Type 2 diabetes and take one metformin tablet twice a day. I am participating in the Ascend Plus clinical study which involves taking a daily tablet of semaglutide (Ozempic) for 5 years to see if it reduces the risk of heart attacks and strokes in people with diabetes. Weight loss is not the main aim of the study. I am still at the 'run-in' stage of the trial and in one month's time I will either get a full dose of Ozempic to take once a day, or a placebo. I am experiencing a lot of nausea and I wondered if anyone else on here was taking part in this study, and if so are they also having nausea and what if anything are they doing to help with this? The study notes indicate that nausea is a common side effect and that it should wear off over time but I am getting it most days. Thank you.
