You would need to look at the carbs as they are intended a a meal replacement not as additional to your normal meals.
That’s what I mean really I’m really having two meals a day now. The Breakfast/ Brunch at about 11am The Granola/ Muesli meal then the “ main “ meal for example 3 Heck Sasauges , Cauliflower Cheese + veg meal when I’ve eaten the “ main” meal I feel really full up
Pre diabetic verdict,I would be having a couple of bananas, bowl of raspberries, some yoghurt etc not all at once but spread over the day plus the two main meals.
Now , I guess unsurprisingly ,I am feeling hungry at random times . It’s late now and I feel hungry. Never used to feel hungry this late.

@Leadinglights @s'nic I will do a proper post tomorrow. A few questions but an interesting experience with my GP and the local diabetes team which I wouldn’t mind feedback on.

It gets interesting I mentioned my concerns to reception and my GP phoned me the same day. I mentioned I worked hard at stroke recovery and to have the test results thrown at me in a dismissive way was not acceptable.
My GP explained it a clearer way and much to my surprise she arranged for a Diabetes Nurse to visit me at home I was pleasantly surprised by the visit.
I had prepped by reviewing my blood tests online. The NHS App is hugely impressive individually showing my liver functions , renal functions quite clearly.
She took my blood pressure and the one I found really interesting was when she checked my feet. She she “ feel “ tests ( 100% ) and produced a mini version of a unborn baby monitor which accurately measured my pulse in various parts of my feet , you could hear and apparently my blood flow is good.
She also carried out a urine test apparently the full results will appear on my NHS app profile.
I mentioned the blood prick test , that was unnecessary.
She’s promised I will get regular three monthly visits although I have to go to the surgery for a full on sight test .
How successful others will be in receiving this care is debatable.
As I’ve often mentioned in the lead up to the stroke I was very healthy. When the stroke actually started I went to A&E was not given the correct tests and sent home because their was “ nothing wrong with me “ I was eventually readmitted to A&E and sent to the Acute Ward 13 hours later.
A couple of years later an acute kidney infection was misdiagnosed which led to me falling down the stairs and receiving a brain contusion meanwhile the infection was running wild and nearly killed me.
I’m guessing I might be getting preferential treatment not only that through my experiences I have learnt how to sensibly robustly challenge heath professionals .
Anyway I have changed my eating preferences even more exercise so it will be interesting to see the next blood test results.
Thanks for reading and any feedback at all would be appreciated @s'nic @Leadinglights

That all sounds like it's going good. I'm not so knowledgeable about all the tests you should have as I'm just prediabetic atm. Others will have a better idea, but congratz on the kick up the surgery bum getting them sorted!
I wish I could get a better service from my doc ( I have a number of concerns atm)

Well I was diagnosed end of March. I’ve mentioned I kicked up a bit of fuss at the surgery about the diabetes team lack of urgency and information.

This worked and a couple of weeks ago had a visit from a diabetes nurse who was very informative and carried out a few tests even checking the pulse in various areas of my feet, all good .
Also the NHS App has been fantastic regularly providing very detailed result details.
I’ve had a recent urine sample and a follow up blood test. The result were on the app the following day.

This morning I received the results of my HbA1c first result was 53mmol todays was 48mmol incredible drop.
Really really pleased .

I’ve changed my diet but not radically just avoiding potato based food and dropped any nonsense like biscuits and crisps
As I keep on mentioning I have also had a recovery from a stroke.
From “ you will never walk again “ to full mobility . I’ve ramped up the exercise for stroke and diabetes recovery.
I’m lucky enough to have a private Nuero physio who objects to repetitive exercise i.e. jogging , gym work.
A couple of hours work in the garden ( for me I must stress) is the equivalent of a prolonged jog and it uses all the muscles , joints , balance etc

I feel I need to caveat this good news by saying for me I will need to continue my work for both the stroke and diabetes
Although I did pinch a full sugar Red Bull and a Mars bar from my daughter this morning.

I also get that I was in the lower regions of diabetes 1 and my heart goes out to my comrades on here that have far worse struggles @s'nic @Leadinglights

Fantastic result with all the challenges you have, just keep doing what you are and likely your HbA1C will drop a bit more by the next test.

I received this today. They’ve gone from being dismissive at the beginning to this.
