I just spoke to a nurse on NHS direct. I informed her that since I was diagnosed it threw me off and I have been on 50mg of setraline since Saturday, and that I couldn't sleep and I feel in a strange limbo. The Nurse said to me that it's not the fact that I am Diabetic that caused me to be depressed. I have clinical depression, which is a seperate illness altogether. I felt I was going mad, and I was tempted to stop the medication, however she has put it in a different light. I always thought that it was the diagnosis caused me to get depressed. I am glad I called them, she put it in perspective. I thought I had beaten my depression 5 years ago.
