8 hypos in 17 days. Didnt think it was so many until i discussed with my dsn about learning to drive. Which im not allowed to do! Always hypo but still have sugar in urine! Argh! Thought everything was going ok but apparently not!
i had 14 hypos in april, 8 in may and 8 so far in june! Apparently its all to do with my monthly cycle but i havent picked up on any patterns yet!
Oh I see , I dont see any patterns eitherI have just noticed how tight your control is , does your DSN think that may play a part in how many hypos you seem to be having ? Are you still hypo aware ?

And yes i am still hypo aware but sometimes not until my bs is down to about 2.5. Its just something i need sorting before i learn to drive.
Yeah i do i want in perfect and well it probably never will be! If i work how much insulin i need for wot im going to eat and if it comes out at about 3.2 units i will tend to take 4 instead. My dsn have given me a half unit pen so i can get closer to the correct amount that i need. Ive just been getting on with it all for the last 12 months and been thinking ive been doing really well, just yesterday after seeing the DSN and been told i wont be able to drive with so many hypos has made me think about it all. All i want is the best and it doesnt seem to be happening🙂
I hate my blood sugars been around 10 and they seem to either be 10 or 3 and i hate the highs more than the lows. My dsn suggest maybe dropping my levemir to maybe 8 instead of 9. And also having another look at my insulin to carb ratio. Its like we have to work everything out on our own!
I tend to give the 4 rather than the 3 just in case i decide i want a biscuit or something else cos i very rarely inject more than the 4 times a day that i do. So if i did want something else to eat i would have to inject or have high blood sugar. According to my dsn low blood sugars can cause long term problems to? I dont know what though. 🙂
Its too much hard work! lol! But at the end of the day i do need to get it right at some point. I wouldnt know where to start with basal testing and neither would my dsn. They dont seem to know what they are on about most of the time.
