I think this is the correct forum for this.
I have diabetes II under control by Gliclazide and Metformin. I am on Dr Moseley's 5:2 diet to keep weight constant and sensible: I eat normally (for me) on 5 days of the week and have around 900 Kcals on low calories days. It all seems to work pretty well. Sometimes on walks on low calorie days I have a mild hypo, corrected by two Dexrtro Energy tablets and a biscuit. Mind you a hypo sometimes can occur on an ordinary day.
My question is this: on low calorie days and the following night, i pass urine frequently, much more frequently than on ordinary days. Is this my metabolism switching to starvation mode and generating ketone bodies that the kidneys are very keen to flush away? Also is this dangerous and what can I do about this if it is. Or maybe the urinating is due to something different?
Many thanks,
