Morning all
I got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes on January the 13th. I think and this will sound strange it may have been a blessing in disguise.
I changed my diet immediately and after the rather unpleasant first few days things settled down I set myself a goal to cycle 139 miles this June from my home town to Bournemouth, I had set this target anyway to raise money for prostate cancer which I sadly lost my dad to 2 years ago. What i didn't expect was that with low carbs diets eating right and cycling 50 plus miles a week how much the weight would just fall off. 20st 9lb on January. Today I'm at 18st 8lb I've gained muscle mass apparently as well which I guess explains the weeks where clothes were fitting better but the weight was staying stubbornly the same.
Looking forward to my next Hba1c test should be soon I hope, going to reintroduce running as well with couch to 5k as I heard a rumour running is good for weight loss as well, could be a myth though lol
