0 carbers? Carnivores?

Sad to see that the soups have been increased to more than 3$ now. So it's time to figure the price per ml and eat the ml that are going to be $3 worth and put the rest away to go with other saved bits. That day was coming.
You might find it much cheaper to make your own and if the soups we get here are anything to go by, they will be much nicer.

How did you take your mixed insulin before when you used it, if you haven't eaten before noon for 30 years. You seemed to be happier managing your diabetes with mixed insulin and I got the impression that you got on OK with it before you got moved to a basal bolus regime, so maybe go back to how you used to take it.

The problem with having the injections of mixed insulin too close together is that the long acting part of the mix overlaps and the bigger the overlap, the bigger the chance of you having a hypo and then going high at other times when you might need more insulin, so you don't get a steady baseline of long acting insulin but peaks of activity where it overlaps and can potentially cause hypos and then a dip in activity or even running out altogether in the long period between injections which can cause levels to go high.

Do I measure just before I eat or after the injection just before I eat? For when I begin in the am.

I just had a sugary drink in the insulin years. Then supper.

You should check your levels before you inject because if you are/were hypo, then you should not inject insulin until you have recovered. So you would treat the hypo, wait for your levels to come up above 4 and then inject and then have your meal.

I thought more about the question u asked and I remember some days not needing to eat with the first injection. My bs was so high at first it only made it better with no hypo. With no food. So I was still not having to eat before noon.
Idk if the same reaction will happen this time around tho.

Finally some insulin in me. I'm not sure if my usual needle tips fit yet. I have the 15 tips samples my drugstore gave me. But upon further thinking they did fit my other insulin pens which also fit the tips they say I HAVE to use. So this is likely good news.

First post meal 2 hour results. 6.5
Keep an eye on that as the insulin will carry on working and so you’re at risk of hypo

On the topic of my weight seemingly not reducing. Well when I could finally find a pair of 2x from 4x now they are looser. So something is happening. I'm glad tho.

Likely no use in checking the carb amounts I'm eating. As I just buy what I can. And sometimes it's very very low carb and sometimes high. Depends on the sales. Depends on the store I get to visit. Depends on if unexpected expenses come up sucking the money.
But I still get the advantages I get from this method of insulin verses the new methods.
