    Brain fog related to carbs?

Been reading about brain fog and how this could be related to having high levels of blood glucose in your body, making you tired, sluggish and very difficult to motivate yourself into doing anything. Realising now, that my carbs levels are quite high and that I should have more fruit and veg...

    Salad with carbs

On Saturday I was on travels and out a lunch time. Visited a new place and ordered a salad with bacon. It came with cheese as standard. No worry about carbs there. I discovered when it arrived it also had apple in it.:rolleyes:o_O

Hi, can anyone help me with this, please? I know the calorie and carb content of dry white wine, and this seems to be something I can drink without experiencing any high glucose readings. However, I'm keen to cut down the number of alcohol units I drink and have found a couple of low alcohol...

Hi All, It's been a month since I was diagnosed. I am slowly getting to grips with everything (apart from the erratic tendency of my BG levels) and intend on starting to exercise. Before I was diagnosed I cycled quite a bit - up to 60 miles at a time. I need to break back in gently because I...

    Diabetes Dietician meeting failure

Just had appointment with the Diabetes Dietician (that's her post). I handled it very badly. I've not been that great with any of the appointments I've had with people. However I made complete hash of this one with the dietician. I may have come accross a tad obsesive about self testing. I...

    Carb counting with veg

I am trying to get my carb counting more accurate but wonder whether I am going over the top. When I did the DAFNE course we were told to simply ignore veg like carrots and corn and greens etc. When I checked carrots by googling 'carbs in ...' They come up with 10g / 100g. Do others include...

    Newly found commitment.....but feeling drained

Hi, I'm determined to get this disease controlled, 27 years since 1st diagnosis as gestational. Then it stuck with me. Sick of it in my life to be honest, but I know I can't do much about that, so am trying a different tactic. I went on Day 1 of the T1DE course last week, and am delighted with...
