Enjoy yourself, that’s what holidays are for🙂 Specially for sinning. Beautiful part of the world, and great food too.
What mikeyB said - a holiday is for relaxing, and it sounds like you're having a lovely time @HenryBennett :D .....mmmm I remember some lovely meals when we were last in York, especially a particularly moreish sticky toffee pudding

I reckon for the moment I’ll draw the line at sticky toffee pudding, however tempting.

Not quite the same as my first night but tonight I went to the bar and had: one pint of Guinness, a starter portion of chilli chicken strips and four scoops of ice cream (no chocolate sauce as they’d run out). BG before = 5.0 and two hours afterwards = 6.3. Not too bad at all.

I was pleasantly surprised by the 5.0 before my small pub meal because we’d met my wife’s cousins for lunch at the Killyhevlin Hotel. I had a modest roast beef lunch - no Yorkshire pudding, two medium roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage and gravy. No alcohol, just water. Followed by a brisk walk along the lough and around the gardens.

I’m flabbergasted that GP’s and their DN’s discourage the use of a meter and self testing.

But surely, if you have it with cream instead of custard, it really isn't all that bad for you? 🙂eek🙂
I always go for cream instead of custard when faced with a choice - one of the few occasions I get the chance is our Richard III Society's annual Christmas carol service in Northamptonshire in the church after lunch in the village hall...I can't resist the fruit crumble! Sadly it looks like it will be cancelled this year along with all of our other outings.

I think your numbers are brilliant, you're doing something right! :D

My flabber is also gasted at this weird attitude towards meters and testing.

Round of applause for the sign of the white rose, Pine Marten. We haven't really moved on very much Government wise, then they just altered oil paintings to give a chap a hunch back; now it's altering previous internet posts to make it look like someone was telling the Government they ought to do X instead of Y ages since when a pandemic arrives.

Too true.
