Yikes! Sounds horrendous @eggyg - but so easily done! Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.

Arnica is good for bruises and strains. I use Arnica gel myself but it’s difficult to find in shops.
Don’t be tempted to rub the cream in too much as it’s not a good idea to massage a haematoma .

Is Arnica the one that’s supposed to stimulate the immune system? A DSN once suggested I didn’t use that (though my mum swears by it) in case my immune system got a bit twitchy with something other than my beta cells and I developed another auto immune condition. Not sure how much of a joke that was!

I think that’s echinacea. People usually take it for colds.
I often wonder if I should use it (I used to, but I don’t now) it’s supposed to boost the immune system, and I think my immune system is overactive enough already!
Arnica reduces swelling, so is useful for bruises. I don’t know if it really works, but I used it after my caesarian, and when the surgeon came round to inspect his handiwork, he congratulated himself on the lack of bruising, and I thought, hmm, maybe it was the arnica, not you!
