Oh gosh that’s very unpleasant. Rest up xxx

Oh dear @eggyg. do what everyone here has advised, it is important to keep moving no matter how slowly. Delegate Christmas to someone else.

You might find - if such a thing exists these days, that an electric overblanket will help soothe and also help with the dispersion, as it will - if set to a low level and left on - which is what they are designed for, keep your blood circulating at a slightly higher rate.
You certainly dodged the bullet there though - one of our neighbours had a similar accident and was very badly injured - though I fell on their steps, which were very dangerous, and went home covered in blood but not badly hurt. I think my guardian angel was on the cricket team, made a few good catches over the years.

Oh Eggy I’ve got no suggestions to help but I’m so sorry to hear this. Lots of love and hugs.

That sounds horrendous :( wishing you a speedy recovery x

Arnica is good for bruises and strains. I use Arnica gel myself but it’s difficult to find in shops.
Don’t be tempted to rub the cream in too much as it’s not a good idea to massage a haematoma .

I’ve got some arnica cream. I don’t think I could stand the pain if it was rubbed in too hard, but thanks for that info, I didn’t know that.

Thanks for that, I’ve got a heated pad I use on my shoulders and neck I will try that tonight. I think I got hit by the lucky stick, it could have been so much worse. I can’t bear to think about it.

I winced big time reading that, horrendous. (((hugs)))

Thinking of you eggyg and trust the pain subsides soon. I know how excrutiating back pain can be. I was going to offer you an exercise that my Physio gave me to reduce my back pain but then realised you had to lie on your back to do it so I'll refrain from that one! Sorry.
Hope you manage to get a few hours shut eye.
You take care now and let others be at your beck and call.
WL
Edited to add MAHOOSIVE ((((GENTLE HUGS)))

Oh dear me Elaine, wishing you a full and speedy recovery.

Please take care of yourself

Oh, my goodness, so sorry to hear this, and hope you managed to get some sleep last night. I am very careful about having one hand on the rail coming downstairs, but aware that a fall is likely to be totally unexpected! We can't be totally risk averse or we would never move at all - and that is very high risk!!
Hope the recovery time allows you to enjoy the wedding to the full - but as others have said, delegate, delegate, delegate!

Glad to hear nothing was broken eggyg. Hope all the pain and bruising eases soon.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. I’m trying to rest but I’m pretty rubbish at it I’m afraid. I feel better walking about, slowly, than I do sitting down where I just stiffen up. My left buttock/ lower back is getting blacker and blacker. Mr Eggy is taking a photo diary as I can’t see it obviously. Don’t worry I won’t be posting any! Just hope I don’t loose my phone! I’ll keep taking the tablets and rubbing in the cream, even if I won’t sit still. Promise. 🙂

@eggy sorry to learn about this: how awful.
Rest up & take the painkillers....hope you soon feel much better

OM gosh eggy, poor you, you probably need a couple of tubes of echinacea cream or gel to help with the bruising, the echinacea homeopathic medicine may help too with the healing and bruising, I took these after my surgery and I am sure they do help. Sure do hope you are feeling better real soon. Take good care. x
