Hi all, have I been given the wrong medication? I was told by the practice specialist nurse that what they had given me was designed to work quickly. When the original dose didn't lower my sugars in 2 weeks, she wanted to put me on to insulin. I then asked was there another tablet, or could my current medication be increased. That is where we are now. Tbh, the nurse was unhelpful and quite patronising. I haven't seen her for ages thank God, as she was really depressing me.
Thanks for all your advice, very gratefully received. I have researched Carbs and have as few as possible. Very rarely now do I have any rice or pasta. I use low carb bread and limit that. I know this is a life long condition and I am working hard to keep on top of things. I have also lost almost a stone in weight and would like to lose another stone at least. Having hated exercise for most of my life, I am now trying to keep more active.
I don't test every single day, just most days. I was lucky to be given a test meter by my surgery, when I was diagnosed.
I am worried however about an eye test, I am booked in for soon at the local hospital. They have found some cells that they don't like the look of behind my right eye. My eyesight itself seems fine and I am told it is good for my age.
