Am I right, that their is no filament .
 
Yes Lin - just a sticky patch - BUT the patch only lasts 'up to' 24 hours. So - it will rather depend on how much they are each, won't it?
 
What is it measuring the glucose in, as there is no insertion into the skin?
 
The photo it shows of the Libre filament has been photoshopped methinks to make it look like a needle!

You're right - the filament looks nothing like that! 😱 :D Cheeky, I wonder if Abbott will get onto them about it? 😱

Have you ever peered into the applicator just before you insert? I happened to the other day, and the inserter that's wrapped round the filament at that stage does look a bit evil, I thought.( though not quite as thick as their photo) In fact I'm sure it hurt more when I applied it, just because I'd seen what it looked like!
 
They have sure made the inserter look a lot bigger than it really is .

If the reports are good and the sensors are less expensive per month than my Libre I may give them a try.
 
Well aren't the Libre sensors like pump cannulas, in that although the cannulas are Teflon, in order to get em IN, there needs to be an 'inserter' needle running through to middle of it - which is removed after insertion?

I know the filament is teeny, but can't recall now how it got in to me!
 
That filament looks more like one of the prongs that I aerate the grass with!

It will be interesting to see how this turns out with regard to cost, reliability etc and in comparison to similar products. However, it's always encouraging to see that companies are researching and producing new products and technology...makes them all raise their game. Another step in the right direction! 🙂

That’s right and much smaller than that blown up pic. Perhaps they’re trying to put people off the Libre :D
