Dried fruit tends to be very concentrated in sugar, personally I'd avoid them

Tell me about raisens. Are they a steer away fruit. Do they cause severe spikes?
Depends entirely on how many you eat as each one contains as many carbs as the original grape, all that has been lost in dehydration is the water content. As Martin has pointed out dried fruit is concentrated sugars.
Grapes contain about 16g of carbs per 100g but raisins contain a whopping 69.3g/100g. So weight for weight raisins are over 4.3 times more carby. Scoff with care!

I wouldn't touch them, for the reasons stated above - I'd rather eat something more substantial as a snack than something I could only get away with two or three of! 😱 🙂

I get the little snack boxes of raisins to carry for when I need a 10g carb boost. Otherwise it's very difficult to stop eating them before they cause a problem!

Those little boxes are a good hypo treatment.

I also have used them for hypos as find them rather delicious.
