Hi There
I'm Ben, Aged 27 and had diabetes type 1 for about the last 15years.
My blood control as of late hasn't been great and was recently admitted to hospital with DKA
My biggest challenge wasn't understanding Diabetes as it was really maintained when I was younger but as I've got older the time it takes for testing and fitting this in with my busy work days.
It's safe to say though that the DKA episode has opened my eyes again and with the help on the Freestyle Libre machine (which is fantastic I must add) and some dedication and family support it has really helped to turn things around.
When I started on the new machine 2 weeks ago my average reading was 14.1, as of today the average is down to 10.2. Still high but definitely going in the right direction.
Currently on Novorapid and Levimier insulin.
Looking forward to increasing my knowledge by looking at these forums and gaining advise from others with Diabetes.
