As the title says & I'm looking for a list of protein foods ideal for a (quick) sandwich please.

home made cheese savory, not so quick, but you can make it then store it....🙂

Sounds good - do you have the recipe please? Put it on here for others to see or pm me.

Isn't it just grated cheese mixed with mayo, with a bit of spring onion and salt and pepper?

My own is grated cheese, carrot & onion then seasoned with black pepper, add a teaspoon of tartar sauce and a big dollop of mayo then mix together, goes well in seeded bread:D

Whats a sandwich? Is that 40g carbs before you fill it. What kind of bread?

Am I beginning to get this when I say you could have an open sandwich or put it between two cooked potabello mushrooms?

Nothing wrong with a sandwich, we still need carbs, as long as we get the balence right and dont over do it.

That'll be essential carbs then, the ones we can't live without.

Just got some Warburtons soft seeded Thins. Great for sarnies, they come already split ready for filling and are just 17.8g carbs each. Much lower than 2 slices of bread.

Everything in moderation, plus sometimes (even as diabetics) we can eat normal foods, and a quick sarni aint that bad. Plus a question was asked for filling for a sarni, and i think that they was looking for answers for fillings.

Some of us do check the carbs on everything and cut down a bit, and some of us just go on a low car diet, some of us just use DAFNE. Sorry but personaly i didn't think that your first answer helped. Now if thats just me then i appolagise

I think it depends on the definition of quick - I could suggest a prawn mayo sandwich - but it's only quick if you happen to have thawed prawns in your fridge (although my mother has a rapid defrost technique for frozen prawns 😉)

We don't usually have eggs in our fridge! So a quick boiled egg is out.

Smoked fish is not a bad filling either, although again I would tend to dollop on some mayo.

I defrost my frozen prawns by putting them under cold running water works every time and only takes minutes.

My mothers method is cooled boiled water in a sieve - it takes seconds! 😉

The body doesn't actually need ANY dietary carbs - so it's up to individuals to determine how many they want to eat.

I'm not actually sure what a quick sandwich is?. is it quick to make or quick to eat? I presume make. as to filling - whatever you fancy the list is endless. sliced ham, bit of lettuce and squirt of salad cream. If you want it really tasty, buy a smoked ham joint and slice it from cold, much better than the sliced stuff in packets.

Ugh.......ham in packets.....the devils food! 😱 So slimy and horrible.

I find the Aldi packets of breaded ham are not too bad, just flavourless
