I decided to do a little test today. I know, when I test normally after eating breakfast I'm back in the low 4's 2hrs after. However, what I didn't know was what my BG was doing in between times.
Breakfast consisted of :-
Porage Oats : 45g.
Nutmeg : sprinkle.
Set Clover Honey : 1 tsp (heaped).
Banana : Fairly ripe medium sized (i.e. not small!).
Semi-Skimmed milk : Didn't record the qty, but not too much.
Orange Juice (oj) : 1 small glass
Anyway, my results were .....
0.5hrs : 7.4mmol/L
1.0hrs : 6.8mmol/L
1.5hrs : 4.2mmol/L
2.0hrs : 4.4mmol/L
Granted, I didn't do a before test, but it wasn't relevant to me if my levels were behaving afterwards.
So my normal low 4's after 2hrs result was confirmed, but it also showed I wasn't getting very high either.
I think I'm quite pleased with that result. But I'd be interested to hear what others thought. 🙂
By the way, please don't take this as me saying that what I had for breakfast is what everyone should have! I am quite sure that, for some (if not most?), it would send them sky-high!! 😱
