Hi Friends

can you tell me if i am panicking too much...before dinner. 6.8... 2 hours after 9.4...is this acceptable?

thank you x

In the words of the great Welshman, Tom Jones 'It's not unusual' 😉 What did you have to eat? It's a little above the ideal, but not by too much.

i had a few chips done in the actifry, slimming quiche, and a spoon of baked beans, thanx northerner xx

A rise of 2.6 mmol isn't bad at all 🙂

Yea thats really good! if you think about it, had you started on a lower level say 5 (thats not to say starting on 6.8 isnt good of course 🙂), you would have only risen to 7.6 so well done 🙂

When I saw my consultant a while back and discussed postprandial, he said that it was only if the one hour post postprandial was greater then +3 and was above 8 mmol/L that he would be concerned.

mark. so my numbers was bad then?
Well, it depends how you want to look at it 😉

9.4 - 6.8 = 2.6 mmol/L

So that is less then +3, which according to my consultants definition is OK for a diabetic.

The starting 6.8 is something you will want to work on, but as you get closer to the "ideal" weight it's pretty likely that will start to come down. That might just need a bit more time.
