Group 7-day waking average?

Welcome back @BobbleHat.

Congrats on the HS @Barrowman.

Lovely photos @Grannylorraine. Looks like you had a good time and great weather.

I've just got back from the first cinema trip of the day. We really enjoyed Freakier Friday. Jamie Lee Curtis is great.

Morning all. Sleepless night, possibly a mix of heat and noisy neighbours but c’est la vie.

6.7

It’s already hot and forecast is for 31 degrees. I might gym but honestly I’m more likely to just stay in today if it’s truly scorchio.
I wish you would send the sun up here, it’s very dull and grey. No heatwave for us

Good afternoon. 8.9 this morning. My BG is rising with the temperature again. Out in the garden early before it gets too hot. Shredded lots of pear and plum tree prunings. They smelled lovely. I tipped a trug full into the chicken run. They love riffling through it for spiders and other tasty treats.
I would gladly swap our weather for yours @Homer
Congratulations on the HS @eggyg and @Barrowman
Welcome back @BobbleHat
Have a good Monday folks. I am chilling after a nice ham salad. Back in the garden this evening when it cools down.

I got about 3 hours of sleep when in house pharmacist called 12:29 & took my waking BS after the call 12:37 BS 9.8.

It seems that my memory is no longer perfect, actually been aware of that & already noticed a bit of decline around age 39/40 as mind, IQ, memory etc. reaches its peak at age 35 & it’s a decline from there, as I’ve been on 31G 6mm since 2013 when going on insulin & it was the Softclix Lancets that were 28G;: why it’s ingrained on my memory as I changed my lancets after every prick due to increased sensitivity from neuropathy; went through boxes of lancets much faster than most people & kept seeing 28G on them! So, I don’t know why I’m bending the 31G needles NOW?

Pharmacists will check with my DSN team at the Causeway Hospital, had to do that too when changing to the reusable pens & cartridges as I’m officially under their care, so, a bit of delay in getting different needles although we did have a mini consultation on what needles are available: what is better; longer, shorter or thicker! The thicker needles are longer with 30G 8mm & there’s 31G 4mm!

Anyway, finally put in Tresiba of 50 at 13:13 after scanning 13:10 BS 11.7. It rose to BS 16.5 by the time I ate 15:28.

With some sleep I’ve been giving it a rethink & the first odd bent needle started with the switch to the NovoPen*6 & thought that can’t be a coincidence & thought even more! Then, I remembered how fast the insulin went in the first time I used it as it’s a smooth action without the clicks of the disposable pens that was that bit slower going in: the same clicks when dialling it come; made by the little sticking up bars on the cylinder for each unit? And I thought “Ah hah!” Is that IT: i’ve been trying to slow down the pushing in of NR as I felt the increased pressure this past week; it’s easier to get a straight needle for the smaller doses the last 2 nights with less pressure when I was getting the bent needles on the max 60 doses during the day?

I’m going to try out the hypothesis by seeing if splitting the injections into 2 smaller amounts will keep the needle straight? I’ll see how that goes?

Morning just 5.0 this morning running late today as we slept in, on the agenda today is a tip run hubby is loading the car now so many cardboard boxes and off cuts of work tops, then we need to get some plaster board then home to start again hubby has to phone IKEA to return unwanted items for the kitchen, daughters boyfriend ordered the kitchen and to say he over ordered is and understatement the cost of the items not needed amounts to £600.

Congrats on your HS @eggyg
update as I need to let off steam its just taken over 2 hours on the phone to IKEA to arrange collection for the items we don't need, hubby spoke to a complete and utter Moran who he couldn't get through to the the items we are returning are unopened he said the refund would have to be on a E card, complete rubbish and every time hubby asked to speak to a supervisor he disappeared and just kept relaying what ever he had been told to say, eventually he confirmed the refund which is just short of £600 will be sent back to the original payment then proceeded to charge £25 for collection when we were told if we used the kitchen planner any returns were free. rant over

They lied. We peaked today at 30 degrees and tomorrow’s forecast is for 31. Which will be ideal ballet watching temperature I think!

I only ate twice today & FINALLY I got my needles straight; isn’t it funny how a bit of sleep & a good lot of clear thinking can do to take the pressure off of me & I get straight needles!

My breakfast BS went up into the 19’s at the 1 hour mark but, still dropped faster than usual with the last 45 minutes to the 4 hour mark at BS 11.4 just making sandwiches & tea, I made an extra 1.5 sandwiches & bagged it & tea in a flask for later if needed on my bedside chest of drawers, & sitting down to eat 1.5 & a mug of tea at JUST about the 4 hour after mark BS 5.3 with a straight down arrow: making 3 sandwiches & 2 lots of tea in about 40 minutes; drank the tea first before eating & then, put in the NR!

I’m hoping to sleep tonight & thought at least -4 less than last night & to be extra cautious I gave it -6 less!

There’s the usual bag of giant marshmallows beside my pillow on the bed, along with the half empty 1kg tub of peppermint creams, & tea in a flask with sandwiches to hand just in case!

TOO cautious maybe as there’s less basal working it’s way through my system tonight & I may be high in the morning but, I’ll take that if I get some much needed sleep?

A Very Good Night to you all & hope you have a Peaceful Sleep! 😉 & A Stream Of Z’s emoji! :D

Here I am, up at the silly o’clock zone again but, a much happier, relieved & more rested bunny!

I got about 4 hours of sleep before the need for the loo woke me up 00:10 BS 7.2. And dropping BS after initial teeny tiny bump up from getting vertical & fell to 01:26 BS 5.3. At which point I ate the sandwiches, already washed my hands in the shower room loo, & had my flask of tea &, even though technically it’s a waking up breakfast, I gave it the about the same NR, a guessed 32, AND another straight needle! I’d just finished eating & tried to scan but, the sensor had stopped working early, I knew, & applied a new sensor & got that started! Thankfully, no bleeding on the other left arm: the 1st Libre 2 Plus sensor gave me a massive bleeder down my right arm, looked up libre notes, on the night of 1/2 of Aug. So, sensor only lasted 10 days & the sticky pad was saturated in dried blood! So, now I’m waiting to get the 1st scan of this new sensor!

I’m hoping to get some more sleep later & hopefully my BS reasonably behaves itself?

A much happier Little Miss Sighing With Relief wishing you all a Very Good Morning, coming up, & have a Wonderful Day! 😉 AHH! That’s more like it; my usual greeting &, genuine, 😉

NOW, while I’m waiting for the 1st scan, I’ll FINALLY catchup & read, is it pages & pages, of posts on this thread! How are you & WHAT have you lovely lot been up to? >>😉😉 :Do_O

Ahh! Quite a few of you also going low the past few night so, I wasn’t the only one! 🙄

Nicely caught up now! 🙂

And yes, this IS a lovely place here on this thread in the forum &, although I didn’t read the posts & SAW the “Care” reactions, I didn’t really NEED to as just posting to people who get it was helpful & I KNEW you lovely would CARE! STILL nice to SEE all the support “Care” reactions, AFTER the fact, as it were!

Thanks SO much you lovely lot! :thankyou: That’s a Thank You :thankyou: & a GREAT BIG HUG of an :care: emoji to you lovely too! :D

Ah! Sensor ready beep!….03:08 BS 6.9 with a down arrow! No graph in between to tell me what BS did after eating so, WILL stay up a bit to monitor: that’s too low for the 1 hour after mark!

Morning all, 5.0 after a sticky night. I ate a few too many prunes last night, normally I buy the cheap ones from Lidl but I'd run out, so Larry got me a bag from Waitrose and they were AMAZING! I ate more than my usual 3 or 4.By 11pm I was drifting up towards 9 mmol so stuck in 2 units of trurapi.
Feel a bit groggy and headachy so I think I'll go back to bed after this coffee 🙂

The problem with Waitrose is that it can spoil you. A few years ago, my wife did a test for me. I said, “Chickens are chickens.” She bought a couple from Morrisons and I asked why she bought two. She said, “Just wait.” When they were cooked, there was so much water in them that the two Morrisons chickens had reduced in size so much that they had less meat than one Waitrose. I don't know if that is still the case, but the quality of food there (even the 'basic' range) was better than most other shops

Morning all. 🙂 7.4 here.

The mist is back after yesterday's heat-fest. Tbh, it's a relief. My BG can be really unpredictable in the heat!

We're off to a little seaside town called Luarca to have lunch with some friends. Looking forward to it.

Hubby made real progress yesterday in the overgrown orchard, so I'm itching to get in there and do some major clearing. It'll have to wait until tomorrow tho.

5.4

Start of my working week for me. My day off falls on a Monday every week through August, which would make for a lovely 3 day weekend, except I was working Sunday this week!

We have an Amber warning for heathere but yesterday wasn't too bad at all so we'll see what today is. My clinic room has a rickety old fan if I need it!

Morning all, 6.2 here. Managed the shopping yesterday, had to pass the road leading to the hamlet where Vance is staying. Road crawling with police, and two policemen sitting under a gazebo erected over the nearby closed footpath across the field. Passed the police office in the nearby market town, FOUR police vans and an ambulance on standby, two had their doors open, and you could see they were stuffed with bored looking officers playing on their phones (I assume they were playing, I can’t believe they were catching up on paperwork.). Today I have to venture out for a hair appointment, to the village on the other side of where he’s staying, only the main road is closed for repair, another road is where a demo is going to assemble, and I presume the demonstrators will all arrive by car and park all over our village, so long detour coming up. Plus they don’t announce where he’s going, from day to day (obviously ) but close the roads suddenly if his entourage of 19 (yes, 19 ) vehicles is passing. I feel sorry for his family, they probably need a holiday, but does it have to be here?
