Group 7-day waking average?

@Robin first as I see you right below me.

Oh! What is that expression? “It’s the best thing since sliced bread”! It’s absolutely brilliant & I love it: makes my life SO much easier; gotten used to reaching up to fill the tank now & it’s a bit of extra exercise! Presumably your son would be taller than me at 155cm & shorter arms, orientals have shorter arms than westerners so, he might not have to stretch up so much?

Prices have fallen now: the cheaper ones on Amazon were all around the £209 mark, with slightly bigger/more bells & whistles about the £300 mark; now you can get them for less than £200 approx. about the £169-£189 mark.

The dishes come out very clean but, there are different settings of washes from everyday quick cycle, which I use now as my dishes aren’t sitting around getting dried on, to longer hotter temp. cycles for the heavier, dirtier, dried on stuff! I’ve only had one soup bowl with 2 scoops of ice cream in it come out with some ice cream still on it in the quick cycle so, that’s really good as I don’t rinse my dishes before putting them in: I never saw the point of that; I just put mine in the dishwasher as soon as I finish eating & set it to wash when it’s full! Sometimes in can be twice in a day & sometimes 2 or 3 days as the racks are of fixed sizes: just depends on what you’re washing & how you fit them in; plates take up less space than soup & pasta bowls for instance.

Thank you! Thats really useful, I’ll pass it on to him.

Morning folks. 🙂 9.0 here.

We had a really lovely catch-up with some friends yesterday. Their 3 grown-up kids were at home for the weekend too. So nice to see them as well. We used to see them a lot when they were small but not so much as teens. Spent the afternoon chatting and eating. Their kids are off to el Xiringüelu in Pravia today - traditionally, it's a family picnic for the village but this particular Xiringüelu attracts people from all over Spain and beyond. Basically, it's a great big cider-fest - there'll be A LOT of hangovers tomorrow!

Weather's still overcast so I should get a lot of clearing done today.

Morning all panic stations staff tested me and it was 13.9 told them to retested, clean finger etc and it was 7.1 much better not ideal but better
It's a sunny nippy day here. Not had a good night due to knee pain.
You all have a good safe happy day
Take care
Love gail

That made me laugh. About 20 years ago I went to Turkey with my sister. Of course we got roped into visiting a carpet factory. Spookily enough we were after a rug as we’d just put a wooden floor in our living room. I decided to buy a beautiful, mostly cream, real wool rug, £500, it was shipped home six weeks later. I absolutely loved it, still do, and no one was allowed to walk on it, or eat or drink anywhere near it. Two years later I had to go into hospital for my big op and I told the family I was taking it with me! I was petrified it was going to be ruined whist I was away! Seven grandchildren later it’s had everything, and I really mean everything, trodden and or smeared in to it, but after a wash with olive oil soap it always comes up a treat. How long did your white silk sofa last? Bet it’s not 20 years like my rug.
I sold both the 4 and 3 seaters separately after about 12 and 19 years respectively. An old friend bought the 3 seater and it’s still going strong a further 5 years later.

6.7 this AM

Saw Burlesque the Musical last night at the Savoy Theatre and it is fun. It’s not perfect by any measure at all but the dancing is superb, the lead women are both blessed with HUGE voices and prodigious vocal ranges and both lean into the Cher or Christina styles that their characters require. However…. songs are uniformly average, the book is wafer thin and there is almost no character development for anyone, most characters are nothing more than rapidly sketched outlines with zero depth or detail, plot exposition is rapid and clunky, and it’s firmly become The Todrick Hall Show.

He directed and choreographed it. He rewrote the book and all of the songs. And he’s cast himself firmly as The Star. He constantly breaks the 4th wall, over sells punchlines to any jokes, feigns ad-libbing and then goes full on for fake laughter. He’s clearly talented and for someone his age the dancing he does is spectacular but it’s a mistake to lean into a character that is basically panto dame quite so much. It is distracting when there’s a show here with real heart and spectacular song and dance numbers somewhere but it’s lost in the confusion that comes from his decision to play everything for laughs instead of trusting the emotional truth to move an audience.

That said though, and putting the issues aside, it’s a fun show. It’s high energy, the singing is great, the set, although overly complex at times, works well and the costumes are great. It’s fun entertainment and I did enjoy it.

Today is a change in mood as there’s a march and vigil for the hostages still held by Hamas after 674 days in captivity.

I was going to Black Pride before the march was announced. Politics, the situation in Gaza itself etc all gets pushed to one side on days like today when the focus is 100% on the hostages.

Morning all. 5.1, been skimming the bottom line all night.

Lovely morning today, laundry to be done. maybe a longer walk than yesterday, only 2 miles as friends unexpectedly popped round just as we were preparing to go out, it was lovely to see them so we didn't mind shortening our perambulation.

Have a super Sunday.

A 6.1 for me today. 🙂 Have a good Sunday everybody.

Dez

Morning all. 5.1. Only a bit of ironing and feed daughter's cats to do today.

Morning a 7 for me when first woke up and a gentle decline so been a bit higher last day or so.
Lovely day yesterday just visited a Walled garden Nursery which had a nice plant selection and then stopped for a Hot Chocolate and a slice of Millionaires Shortbread ( only way I can join the high flyers) and certainly my BG was flying high afterwards.
Then an idle afternoon so I did be one a fully paid up member of the “ Idle Rich” at least for a few minutes.
Really warming up now and today is a bit up in the air as my wife may have to run out DiL into A and E to check out a possible broken foot.
Is strange as she has waited a week and worked from 6pm last night on a 12 hour shift( IT support worker) before deciding to maybe go to hospital.
So our planned day depends on what happens there and how long my wife May or may stay with her.
Anyway have a good day all

Morning all 6.9 today
I’m sat in the garden as I post this, with my first Cuppa
as Mrs G is having a lay in (she’s back to work tomorrow) I’ve just put the first load of washing on

over the last few days, Ive been trying to get organised since deciding to move my office corner out of my bedroom and into a corner of the lounge
mid way through this relocation I had a brainwave and now have a “fold away type desk” on order which should be delivered tomorrow it’s a bit of upheaval but think in a few days it will be worth it, especially if I can make my bedroom more of a relaxing and decluttered environment

Today some more clearing up is definitely needed, Including a tip run plus some clothes to the recycling point, and if I really want to do it my car definitely needs a wash & brush up

Looks like it’s going to be a Splendid Sunshine Sunday
TC everybody 😎

Morning all and 6.1 for me despite the guesswork involved for a vegan Donner kebab courtesy of festival catering.

A good night was had by all and the opera house at the winter gardens was a great place to play. Part standing and part seated with two balconies. Seating went down well as a large part of the audience are the same age as us and had already been on the go for two days. Only downside was the rider. I'd forgotten how vile American Budweiser is. I managed half a can..

Have a good day everyone.

Morning

6.2 this morning after having pizza last night, had a lovely week in Norfolk which was mostly dry, did get a few showers on Sunday afternoon and Monday was overcast with showers, but we were having lunch in a restaurant and missed one, and had just got in the car when the next one came, we visited Great Yarmouth, that was on the Monday, Wroxham and Potter Heigham (on the way home). Mostly we were able to get on the beach or sit by the caravan. Internet was not good so didn’t bother trying to post much, I will catch up with everyone’s post later. BG ranged from 5.3 to 8.1 the morning after eating a Chinese takeaway. Pleased to have only gained 1 1/2 lbs as had fish and chips twice, Chinese takeaway, carvery lunch, lunch out in Great Yarmouth, and pizza twice all in 10 days, I wouldn’t usually have that much takeaway in 6 months, but back on plan today.

Morning all -another glorious day.

5.3 this morning and need to get a shift on and change my pump as it's running low on insulin. Hubby announced this morning that he's taking me out for lunch in the next village which requires us to get a bus. Before I was in hospital I'd have walked, but I need to build up to that again. My fitness is truly pathetic now. We could take the car but parking is next to impossible.

Friends enjoyed the wine and cheese yesterday and we caught up on two episodes of Masterchef after they left. All in all it was a nice day.
