I note on my diet full English obviously without the toast is a good choice. However I have just read Bacon is a processed food. I only ever have one rasher as I don't really like it . My sausages are Heck 97% so could I make better choices. The egg and mushrooms are okay and I love tomatoes so they will go if I really feel they spike it out of control but I would rather not as I have cut back but can still not go without.
Can anyone recommend a better alternative? PS Hubby always had cooked breakfast even if I did not but then Id have tomatoes on toast so I am trying and its not too many days a week. Mostly it was porridge and cereal so now that's changed. I miss fruit in the plain yoghurt seeds n nuts are a chore for me. Loving a muffin but its like a cake then nothing until lunch makes it hard.

Cauldron veggie sausages are pretty low carb, you could make creamy mushrooms (spoon of Philadelphia added), how about savoury muffins, cheese and courgette, olive and tomato for example. With an omelette you can add almost anything into it, I have put salmon in a few times and it was really good.
Have some berries with your yoghurt rather than seeds and nuts.

I would argue that the veggie sausages are probably more highly processed that the bacon!

1 rasher of bacon will not hurt occasionally but I would probably not have it every day and same with the Heck sausages.
Don't worry about a few tomatoes as they are much better for you than many other sources of carbs, but obviously don't eat a full punnet of cherry tomatoes as they are sweet and will be higher in carbs. Moderation is the key.

Why are you not having a few berries in your breakfast yoghurt with the seeds and nuts. 5 or 6 large raspberries or a few blackcurrants or blueberries or strawberries can really add a fruity zing to your breakfast. As always portion control is key.

Hubby would be lucky to get a cooked breakfast daily. No once a week is enough and I agree it portion control. Also I think if you analyse a lot of things they are processed. I guess it is being sensible. Loving the savoury muffin idea and a few berries might just change it up. I did at one time buy frozen fruit in the winter . Hubby got me Strawberries at the market. I put the point in the wrong place. Oops no wonder I thought they were too high. I am stupid at times. Its the eyesight lol any excuse a bad workman blaming her tools.

Yes, I buy frozen berries to have in my yoghurt during the winter and have whatever is in season in the garden in the summer. Just finished rhubarb and now on rasps, blackcurrants, gooseberries and I had my first apricot (a windfall) this morning. Actually just half as it was a very large apricot. If something is really tart like rhubarb, I will add a little sweetener but generally if I keep the portion small and have it with something creamy, like full fat Greek yoghurt, that takes the tartness off it, as I try not to have too much sweetener as that is another processed food.

I have rhubarb in the garden and with the Greek yoghurt that is going to be a yummy dessert. Can I get an idea of quantities please. Okay so if I stew rhubarb say 2 tsp of stevia per 300g of rhubarb which will that be 3.4 carbs and I think that will make say 3/4 spoonful's to put in yoghurt would that be okay. Or is that overkill with stevia. I'm sorry to say but I'm not keen on it but did buy it this time to keep low carb. I know its low rather than no but I am keeping it low as the 130g did not work for me. Owning up confession time... I did a bit of blind work before, Like nectarines and satsumas are part of five a day and free on slimming world therefore not counted etc. Plus the take-aways etc etc .
Oh well it catches one up in the end with this.

Yes, I don't like stevia either but I would not be concerned about how many arbs it contains. They are likely mostly indigestible anyway, but I don't find it that sweet and the aftertaste is naff. That said, the flavour of rhubarb is so strong that you are ulikely to notice it too much. I bought a whole array of artificial sweeteners when I was first diagnosed and I am still slowly working my way through them but generally I put 6-8 sweetener pills in with about 4 sticks of rhubarb and stew it and then have 3 dessert spoons of it in my yoghurt, with mixed seeds and ginger and cinnamon.... and a few chopped leaves from the lemon balm plants that grow like weeds in my garden. It makes a tasty, zingy combination.

Thanks, verdict after tonight's evening meal. Sounds like a palate cleanser too.

If I was having it as a dessert, I would probably just have half my regular breakfast portion. There are still carbs in the yoghurt and fruit which will be on top of whatever was in your evening meal. Not saying don't have it but maybe scale it down from the suggested portions above.
I find I am quite happy to have cheese or cheese and olives after a meal these days so not all that fussed about a pudding. My cheese consumption is pretty shocking as lunch is usually half and apple and a chunk of nice cheese! It has rather become my new chocolate!

How about savoury muffins at 1.5g carb per muffin? If you don't like stilton then you can vary the recipe. I've used sun dried tomato and feta, cheddar and apple and all manner of other flavourings. When we had meets from DSF both Trophywench and I have doubled and trebled the recipe to take to the picnic. That's the hand written calculations below.

If you are typically having around 50g carbs per day that could explain why yu are having problems with your eyes as you have reduced your carbs substantially in quickly rather than a bit more gradually.
Your meals today sound delicious, I have picked rhubarb so will also have that tonight.

I have had so many different meals all very tasty. Lowest day carbs were 29 highest day was 62 so it depends on the day. i eat the diet and do choose lower carb
My eyes are not as bad today but it really fits on as it will be that but my sugars high wiuld do as much damage.
They are getting lower. Since i found the app on Diabetes Uk for low carb it makes sense.
i needed this kick up the … as I was in danger .
I’ve still to try an odd glass of wine or a real night out.
im keen it will not last.

well it did put it up but unsure as was up four times last night when F2f is but I have just tested its 7.5 . i have a headache glad I had no alcohol. its still singke figures so i am pleased to start the week . As long as it does not climb . i lost 2 pound this week and i am happy with that too as that was not aimed at. in fact the cals are all over the place. I was told not to count cals just the carbs.

Are you keeping your fluids up, as dehydration can give you a headache.
