I'm really fed up with struggling to lose weight. I was diagnosed with Type 2 over a year ago and made lifestyle changes, joined a run walk group, started eating healthy, lost some weight then put a bit back on due to constantly feeling hungry. I was on metformin and when my hba1c lowered a bit I came off. I'm hearing about this weekly injection ozempic in the news for the use in obesity. As I'm obese with hypertension and a type 2 diabetic, can I ask my GP to prescribe me with ozempic? I've asked for help with weightloss for over a year now and have completed a course about type 2 diabetes, completed a 12 week online app based weight loss programme. Had counselling about my eating habits (not via NHS), joined a run walk group, paid for meal prep companies. It all just comes back to me always feeling hungry and losing interest in weight loss feeling fed up. Last time I asked to be referred to a weight loss service in the NHS my GP said I knew how to lose weight as did it before (this was me losing 56lbs by attending bootcamps and eating around 800 calories, not sustainable), and sent me a link to a local running group. I live alone and really need some proper support and was hoping to try Ozempic.
