Welcome to the forumI'd like a discussion on the menopause and how it effects your blood sugars
Thanks for your response, I have been suffering from night seats for eell over 2 years now I have been diabetic for 35 years and been in the menopause for about 3 years and my blood sugars are affected by the menopause and like you I struggled with hypos or night sweats ,thanks for making me feel not alone in thisHi and welcome.
I was diagnosed during the menopause so not sure if I can hep you on how it changes or affects things because it is all I know. What I will say is that HRT patches have enables me to have better hypo awareness (hot flushes were making it difficult to know if I was waking up hypo multiple times a night or just menopause symptoms) and revolutionized my life in other ways too.... I now sleep right through without needing a pitstop etc. I battled quite bad menopause symptoms for 5 years before I was diagnosed with diabetes and asked to try HRT and really wish I had asked earlier. It blows my mind how a small patch of clear plastic applied to my hip can make such an enormous difference to my quality of life and without any real side effects. I can even manage on half the dose ie 1 patch a week instead of 1 every 3-4 days.
I no longer get hot sweats and I have great hypo awareness, even through the night.
