when i got up this morning blood glucose was 12.4 then had breakfast bite size shredded wheat put some raspberrys & some cinnamon on them & almond milk just tested before my dinner & blood glucose is 15.7 should i not be having the cereal .
Hello. If by ‘flavoured porridge’ you mean stuff like Quaker Oat So Simple, then definitely not! Look at the carb level on the packet. I can get away with about 60g (cooked) steel cut oats prepared with water then refrigerated overnight and microwaved. I add milk and Erythritol Gold (to pretend I’m having brown sugar!). After 2 hours my BG has gone up less than 1 mmol/mol. You could add fruit but I don’t like hot porridge and cold fruit.Is flavoured porridge ok ??
