BRILLIANT, BUT MY DIABETES ON JUST A LOW SUGAR DIET I END UP WITH MY SUGARS AT 25.1 AS MY HIGHEST RESULT.
LOWEST AT 10.2
BUT SINCE ON A VEGAN DIET LOW CARB LOW SUGAR MY TEST RESULTS ARE 4.7 BEFORE BREAKFAST AND 5.6 TWO HRS AFTER BREAKFAST. HIGHEST IVE HAD IT IS 10 AFTER POTATOES, LOWST IVE HAD IT IS 3.4 I FELT SWEATY AND SHAKING.

That's a great result so well done, but if you're trying to promote a vegan diet as a route to remission I have to tell you that I've put my diabetes in remission even though I haven't gone vegan.
IAM STILL ON METFORMIN 500MG,2 TWICE A DAY, AND 40MG GLICLAZIDE ONE TWICE A DAY, MY DOCTOR WONT TAKE ME OFF MY MEDICATION THEY WANTED ME TO GO ON INSULIN.

HI EVERYONE
IAM DIABETIC TYPE 2, BUT HAVE PUT MY DIABETES IN REMISSION GOING VEGAN, BUT MY DOCTOR WONT TAKE ME OFF MY MEDICATION.
HE WANTS ME TO GO ON INSULIN.
SINCE BEEN VEGAN AND ON A LOW CARB AND LOW SUGAR DIET I HAVE HAD TWO HYPOS,
BEFORE THE VEGAN DIET LOW CARB LOW SUGAR DIET I ALWAYS HAD VERY HIGH BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL. NICE TO MEET YOU ALL X

Welcome to the forum @Martha Mulligan

Glad you have found an approach that is working for you.

Have you been able to have an HbA1c recently? What sort of level are you getting?

It seems odd for your Dr to want to begin insulin therapy if your blood glucose is already occasionally going low?

THANKYOU FOR GETTING BACK TO ME, WHEN THEY TOOK MY BLOODS THEY CAME BACK NO THURTHER ACTION SINCE I AM ON A VEGAN DIET LOW CARB NO SUGAR DIET. BUT MY DOCTOR WONT TALK TO ME ABOUT COMING OFF MY MEDICATION.

If you are on that amount of meds then obviously there must be something wrong with your blood sugar levels.
I see you say you are in remission, I would perhaps be more inclined to say you are well controlled with the amount of meds you are on.

Hi, Mike
Martha has another thread running on which I've been exchanging posts with her.

Thanks @Martin.A

I’ve merged the threads into the newbies section as they were covering the same topic and seemed more like an introduction 🙂

I had to be classified as in remission at my GP surgery before I declared myself in remission here, just to be absolutely certain.
I have had numerous communications with vegans telling me that eating plants can reverse my type two diabetes, but as yet I have not managed to find anyone who would reveal their eating plan or even outline the sort of meals they eat on an everyday basis. I am sure it would help those who would like to eat less meat to know how you eat and control your glucose levels.

I was under the impression that being in remission was being able to maintain a non diabetic glucose level without medication for diabetes so I would say @Martha Mulligan could not be classified as being in remission and I think if she has been told that then she has been misled.
I know people who have felt much better generally by following a vegan diet, helped with asthma and allergies but what they were eating was definitely not low carb so yes it would be interesting to know what Martha has for meals.
